after over 5 years of playing i have finally found a rule that i could not interpret, so the card Uruk-Hai Troop takes away all strength bonuses from possessions so if it's skirmishing durin than does durin lose the strength gained from bearing possessions?
-
i think so too.
take i.e. durin III + axe of khazad-dum + dwarven bracers + belt of erebor. you got a strength 13 companion.
while skirmishing uruk-hai troop he loses both, the strength of the possessions plus the strength of his ability (but only for possessions, not for artifacts!). in fact of that durin becomes a strength 7 compainon while fighting the troop.

I don't think so, Durin's inherent bonus does not come from a weapon, it comes from a companion (himself). You lose bonuses printed on the side of weapons, and those from a weapon's text (like a Flaming Brand VS. a Nazgul).

If the bonus came from possession (and their text) yes, but in the case of Durin his extra st bonus came from his text, not from the possessions so in the mentioned case i think he would be a 10 strenght companion.

FM and Pepin are correct - the source of an effect is the card the effect is printed on only. And Uruk-hai Troop only says weapons, not all possessions. It does not prevent the strength bonus from Dwarven Bracers, for example, but does prevent all strength bonuses from Ranger's Sword, Blade of Aragorn, both the printed bonus and the bonus if facing Uruk-hai. People like Durin III and Doomed Heir do not have their game texts affected because neither Durin nor Boromir are weapons.
