Well... is it really nesessary to use Boromir, doomed heir? I would like another option for this deck...
is there any other boromir suitable?
-
For pure strength? Probably not. But I LOVE using Boromir, Bearer of Council as a non-RB companion. Hard to beat such easy minion discarding. Doesn't matter HOW much vitality they have.
-
I like Age's End Boromir with the new Boromir's Sword and of course Guarded City.
-
Are you thinking of a specific deck? Feels like I've only caught half the conversation.
-
the main idea is this:
-faramir, bearer of quality and the one ring, the ring of rings
-pippin, wearer of black and silver (starting)
-boromir, doomed heir (starting)
-heirs of gondor x4
-guarded city x4
-blade of gondor, sword of boromir x2
-ithilien blade x2
-athelas (or kingsfoil, whatever) x4
-faramir's bow (TT one)
-home and hearth x3
-guardian x3
-lots of gondor possesions and stuff
the point of the deck is obvious (THIS IS JUST THE MAIN IDEA), make boromir strength +100000... and wound minions with faramir's bow and pippin, then play pippin in the fellowship phase to remove burdens... he'll not die thanks to boromir's sword

I've seen the idea before, but make sure you have some defender-adding cards. Having Boromir just replace others in skirmishes is a good idea, but every now and then, good old-fashioned defender will be better. Consider Armor of the Citadel and Horn of Boromir, The Great Horn (both possessions, though the latter would require some followers to go with it). Other defender options: conditions like I Will Go and Ranger of the North and events like Elendil's Valor and Banner of the White Tree.
Just my two cents.

good idea, but my doubt is that faramir boq wouldnt be the best against corruption, wounding and such, faramir is a crucial character, and even with home and hearth, if not in a dwelling, he would get killed very easily, exerting with his bow, etc... besides, i could use faramir's sword for the same purpose, and i need a ranger... OK! with this in mind, which other RB would be better? and which other faramir?
-
Frodo, Resolute Hobbit with The Great Ring is very resilient, assuming he doesn't run into Cavern Entrance. For other versions of Faramir, maybe Captain of Ithilien (extra healing), or Son of Denethor (to get past direct wounding especially, but that could be handled by Armor).
-
frodo, weary from the journey, maybe? instead or RH?

I Will Go = teh Pwnzer!!!!!!
Consider Armor of the Citadel and such. I run some nasty defender stuff in my Anarion deck that has him like, d+2 and 7 vitality. I play 1 skirmish event to kill 3 minions, buh-bye.
Gizlivaldi, love the choke idea! Mebbe Aragorn, HttWC / NSttS stuff? You can give him a bow as well for some directed easy removal. :D

prefer to use ranger's cloak like crazy to kill minions (pippin wobas/faramir's bow/ithilien blade) and use aragorn driven by need. play him if boromir dies, at least a good replace... oh and of course play on him I will go and his bow :P

I think I understand how you get Anarion Defender + 2 but how do you get him to 7 vitality?
