So I was looking through my cards the other day and found this little guy
Tempest of War
Culture: Uruk-hai
Twilight Cost: 0
Type: Condition • Support Area
Game Text: While you can spot an [Uruk] minion, each unbound companion is resistance -1 for each condition he or she bears. Skirmish: Spot an [Uruk] minion and a companion who has resistance 2 or less to discard from play all conditions in all player's support areas.
Now this is a great little card for a Uruk-Hai resistance deck with things like Merciless Uruk, Troop of Uruk-Hai and Overpowering Uruk. It makes each unbound companion -1 resistance and then has mass condition discard to boot!
Now clearly this card needs special attention you may think I missed an important card in the afore mentioned list but no, I have saved the best for last
Our Foes Are Weak
Culture: Uruk-hai
Twilight Cost: 2
Type: Condition
Strength: -1
Resistance: -3
Game Text: To play, spot an [Uruk] minion. Bearer must be an unbound companion. Limit 1 per bearer.
This card really gets the deck ticking, with 1 tempest in play the bearer is -4 resistance with a chance to be more!
The Deck: 34 Cards
Shadow
4x Tempest Of War
4x Our Foes Are Weak
4x Strange Device
2x New Enemy
4x Overpowering Uruk
4x Merciless Uruk
4x Squad Of Uruk-Hai
4x Patrol Of Uruk-Hai
2x Uruk Desecrator
Now you're probably thinking "well if your opponent plays ring-bound hobbits or rangers you're screwed." not so fast! you see the 2 New Enemy? and the 4 Strange Device they're there to discard the useless conditions (Strange Device) and then use them to add a strength bonus (New Enemy). Another feature about this deck I should mention is that it's made completley out of Uncommon, Common and Starter cards, thats right, not a single Rare in the deck!
So obviously good synergy is needed for a good deck, so I paired it with Elvents.
Deck: 34 Cards
Free Peoples
Galadriel, Bearer Of Wisdom
The One Ring, Ring of Rings
Elladan, Son Of Elrond (Starting)
Elrohir, Son Of Elrond (Starting)
2x Elrond, Witness To History
2x Cirdan, The Shipwright
4x Glimpse of Fate
4x Still Needed
4x Uncertain Paths
4x Supporting Fire
4x Final Shot
3x Seclusion
3x Elf Song
2x Careful Study
So as you can see there is only one condition in the deck meaning that should you use tempest's second ability your free peoples will be virtually unaffected.
Now going back to the shadow you can throw in rares like Army of Uruk-Hai or Assult Commander if you want to, or if you have them. ;)

Um...I'd like to point out that I already now people who run decks identical to this. And they've been playing since.... 05 ;D

hey, I learned something.

It's just that a spotlight is supposed to show you a card that you thought wasn't very good, is good.
-
Except that there aren't any more expansions.. and we all know almost every card.
It's always nice to hear opinions and strategies on cards, no matter how popular the card is.
Keep it up 3rd Leg!
