Title: Would people enjoy a new tournament in Amsterdam in the beginning of january?
Post by: Smeagollum on April 20, 2009, 07:42:29 AM
Would people enjoy a new tournament in Amsterdam in the beginning of january or february?

We could make it a 2 day tournament.

Interested?

If so.. People have to help out with a good prizesupport, because that's the hardest thing I think.

Ps. I changed the topic.

Hi Smeagollum,

For me it is quite expansive to travel to Amsterdam. And I have planned to change places where to held tournamnets. As it seems, a further tournament is installed in Septermber in Amsterdam. Furthermore, France has a national championship (I do not know, if foreigns are welcome  :-k ) in the beginning of June, People in germany want to play a little contest, and the huge!! membership of Poland is also interested in organizing a tournament.
If I remember right, Ceska Republica want to organize too (Do not forget about Manchester)!

As Gil-Estel said: There are some Competitions in the pipeline.

We do need a location for our summer event: So, choose some - but please, not all of the possebilities squeezed during just a few weeks - my wallet would get very, very hungry!

France wouldn't exclude foreigners from playing in their championship would they? That seems absurd, the more players the better I say!

Maybe just a small, one day tournement. With just local players, you don't need that much pricesupport. Buy a cheap shadows boosterbox, for I know there are still players that like to have cards from those sets....

Elrohir: There's a tournament in Amsterdam in September???? Why am I not aware of it???
I'm one of the mainmembers of the lotrcommunity in Amsterdam....
And I'm sure foreigners are welcome.. I asked a little while ago.. thing is they've got an own x-list and kind of rules and they are in french... just one of the languages I don't understand....

Gil: A small tournament is an option ofcourse;)

I do not know exactly about it: but I thought there will be a Decipher weekend in Amsterdam? About the prizesupport: People could bring some rare cards with them - eg: 9 cards of 9 differnt cultures of 9 differnt editions. They were thrown into a pot - and after tournamnet, the prizes where distributed according to the ranking. Just an idea I thought of.

I have to think about it. I try to come.
See you soon,
Elrohir

Hi there, we could do as the following:

Start of June: France
End of July: Austria/Germany
Middle of September: Nederlands

I prefer a 2-days tournament.
The Contest in France includes pushing up every one's french skill and the amazing city Paris!
The Competition in my country includes sightseeing in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
The Cup in the nederlands offers a Star Trek tournament next to lotr; The flair of Holland will attract any player's attention.

I hope, we can manage this challenge.

I remember somebody was talking about a decipher weekend, but since then I haven't heard anything about it.. it still goes on?? Where, when?

About the tournament in France... My french is not as good as my German, which is not as good as my english and you all know my english by now.. can somebody please tell me when this tournament exactly is, where and what the x-list is, because it does not help if I ask for this and somebody refers me to a site completely in French :o
Thx  in advance;)

Good idea about Prize support

I think I will not come to Amsterdam in September, as there is the European Mastership in Paris... But I would be happy to see you all there!
