So there was a SWCCG tournament in Joliet this past Saturday. Seven guys showed up, and not a single one of them played LotR. I mean, I know it was a SWCCG tourney, but c'mon! All the LotR players I knew played SWCCG at one point or another.
Oh well, guess I'll just be miserable on my own here in the Windy City.
So yeah, where HAVE all the players gone? I know there are a decent number of people on these boards, but the number could be A LOT higher. What can be done about bringing people back to the game and onto these boards? Any ideas?

I don't live anywhere near there.

Invite your friends; encourage online play.

I'm convinced that people have just lost touch with the game. Especially with D going under and there not being a PC immediately. It took me over a year to find this website. I was constantly hoping a PC would pop up and nothing ever happened. I stopped playing with ROTK and wasn't in the loop during the Cobra days so I had NO idea where to look. Even if they want to play, where are they supposed to look?

yeah, methinks things with GCCG are the future of LOTr (though I don't participate)

sadly. :(

I wouldn't say that's such a bad thing... Metw in GCCG usually has 10-20 players on at a time and a large playerbase. It's kept the game alive. It's not always easy to find local players...

I need somebody to explain me gccg... I alreday read the instructions... but as it seems I don't understand everything... :(
-
you are not the only one....
-
yeah, I would install lackey or...the other one (GTTCG?), but I'm not much of a software junkie, plus I own a Mac. Basically, I'd need some divine help to even get through the initial set-up.

This is why a couple folks were trying to get a PC going right away, but too much red tape seemed to get in the way.... ](*,)

I thought D has risen from his ashes?

I thought D has risen from his ashes?
That doesn't help us at all. Unfortunately.

Yeah, since Decipher thinks people only care about FightKlub anymore. They've dropped everything hoping that FightKlub will resurrect the company, and chances are it'll peter out in a few months and die, leaving them worse than before. Oh well...

It's all their own fault. They didn't keep track of their finances and employees, nor did they keep enough LOTR players interested in the game. I still don't get why people seem to think D is our solution, personally. They don't care and don't need to anymore. It just doesn't make sense that we sit here with our messed up game hoping for a solution to present itself. No one is going to fix the game but us, the players, forget about D folks. /rant. :)
