Title: Shelob at Emyn Muil
Post by: Lausus on April 24, 2009, 01:08:42 PM
Is there a format that allows me to have Shelob, Last Child of Ungoliant (0P48) in a deck with Emyn Muil (1U360)? Or if I was just playing casually with a friend who did allow it, could I exert Shelob 7 times during the manuever phase even though she's already fierce? I believe I read you can pay the cost of cards and abilities (exerting) without benefitting from the effect (becoming fierce).

no on the first, or you must invent a format....but then Ettenmoors is more fun. And yes on the second. You can exert Shelob even though she's already fierce

ettenmoors doesn't allow you to exert an enduring character.

You can't exert that Shelob because she is fierce and the site specifically states "exert your minion that is not fierce".

You CAN use the new Ettenmoors with Eater of Light or Menace, though. A 22-strength beastie for less than half the cost of Sauron? Yes, please!

Using Ettenmoors you can exert eater of light or menace 7 times (+14 Strength), + her original strength of 8 = 22.

Like playing orkish scout at any site 7, 8 or nine from the old sites  :o :o

oh, 27 twilight to add while bearing an pesky mount, yap, that's fair.
OK offtopic, but as crazy as exerting an enduring shelob in skirmish....

At least it's not a base 22 strength... just one skirmish if she has the vitality.

Add in 4x Web..with plenty of pesky orcs stacked.....and maybe Led Astray... If only it were possible to pull off.

Sudden Strike is a nice card...it helps you to set up an eater of light deck....back to the drawingboard.
