Don’t recall at the moment.
The fellowship is designed to chock and the shadow is Moria swarm.
I have used this deck for a number of years now and feel very comfortable using it. I has always performed well. I’m interested if anyone has any feedback to add.
Thanks

How often do you double move with this fellowship?
-
It is very easy to double move at the start to site 3. Usually it gives out about 5 maybe 6 pool for the first turn. The double for the win (site 8 to 9) usually works out ok. Cards like Depart Silently, Wielder of the Flame, and Bounder can keep minions off Frodo and keep him alive for the last site win.
-
Ok. Maybe you could add 1 PATHS agains't Moria.
-
If I get a PATHS, I will try it. It definitely is a good card.
-
Maybe add Relics of Moria for your shadow... You could drop 1 Host of thousands.
-
i recommend Deft in Their Movements for double moves as you can spot allies as well as companions for it
-
Thanks for the suggestions; I will experiment with these cards.

I have a bone to pick. Choke decks, by definition, play a very small amount of cards per turn, and I don't really see a lot of cycling, with a single They Are Coming tossed into a huge deck. I think you should invest in swarming, thus losing the Cave-Trolls, otherwise you might find your hand clogged in some games.
-
The vampire has a point. Many times I have been mocked for using They are Coming, but it has shown its quality more times than I can count. Clever idea for a Gandalf choke. I never would have considered a Gandalf Defender.

I don't like the loose Cave Troll.

I'm confused, why are there 3 copies of they are coming. It's good, but not that good.
-
They are Coming is great, cycling is always useful and sometimes you need to pull a Goblin Scavengers to draw a card and get things going.
-
They Are Coming is usually at least x2 in my moria decks. Since the scimitas give you hand extension, you usually can pitch some free peoples cards to gain that last minion needed for the kill.
-
indeed, cycling is very ahndy, but you don't need 3 copies of they are coming. two is more than enough, play a goblin armory or another minion.
-
In moria you could easily use 3 they are coming, since the third copy, depending on what your opponent plays, can be easily discarded with the first one. Moria can be big, we all know and to have good cycling early on, is good.
-
I just don't see the point of using 3, but then again, I am a victim of the 30/30 curse.

Hi everyone,
I know this post is dated, but I found it recently and though the Gandalf choke part was interesting. I thus created a deck very similar to this one (but with the cards I have) and I am looking for advice.
Even though Gandalf can be strong in this kind of deck, he is not impossible de defeat, especially when its equipment does not arrive early in the game.
What would you advice to heal him ? (I only have cards from the movie block and don't want to mix them with post-Shadows cards)
Thanks

I’m glad you found inspiration with the deck.
To answer your question, I’ve found that Intimidate works very well. Instead of healing wounds you are preventing the wounds. I don’t have this card in my deck but if you want to focus on wounds go with Barliman Butterbur, Prancing Pony Proprietor to reload Intimidate.
One big change I’ve made to this deck is dropping Hobbit Intuition and adding Hobbit Stealth. This should help keep some wounds off because you can cancel more skirmishes.

This looks like a neat idea, and I am excited to try it. I was wondering why you chose the 'generic' wizard staff over one of the Gandalf specific staves... For the strength (vs vitality)?
-
For the strength penalty effect, a choke deck is focused on getting Frodo to live, nothing else.

Exactly.
The text on Wizard Staff (2C29) “Skirmish: Exert bearer twice to make a minion strength -3.” is to keep Frodo alive.
