Title: Hunter and Defender+1

If I have a character that has Hunter 2 and Defender +1, and is skirmishing two non-hunter minions, do I get to add +4 strength or +2?

Just +2. Basically hunter X is short for "When skirmishing a non-hunter character, this character is strength +X." A hunter/non-hunter split in the minions also satisfies the condition for the bonus.
