Title: Decks that I built!
Post by: Kenddrick on July 05, 2009, 10:12:17 AM
Hi!

I don't know if it's okay to post a new topic, but I thought I would do it since my deck is now revamped totally. I finally got the very basic hang of deck-building in LOTR:TCG. Having some carried-over experience from Magic: The Gathering does help! :)

Gondor/Isengard:
1X Frodo, Resolute Hobbit
1X The One Ring, The Ruling Ring

Fellowship (30 cards):
1X Boromir, Doomed Heir
1X Merry, Loyal Companion

1X Aragorn, Isildur's Heir
4X Tradesman from Lebennin
1X Ranger of Osgiliath
3X Gandalf, Defender of the West
4X Gondorian Blade
1X Banner of the White Tree
1X Armor of the Citadel
3X Heirs of Gondor
3X Rally the Company
2X Gondor Bowmen
2X Hobbit Sword
1X Narya
2X Deep in Thought

Minions (30 cards):
3X Orc Slayer
1X Morgul Slayer
4X Isengard Shaman
4X Isengard Worker
2X Isengard Warrior
3X Isengard Servant
4X Isengard Retainer
1X Saruman, Servant of the Eye
1X Orc Overseer
1X Orc Commander
4X Isengard Axe
2X The Trees are Strong

The fellowship strategy for this deck(originally made by NBarden), is to use Heirs of Gondor and Tradesman from Lebennin to generate token for strength. Also, try to take advantage of all the Gondor cards to gain Skirmish advantage over the enemy.
The minion strategy however, is to come up with minions that can wound the fellowship, or to exert to make the fellowship suffer. Finally, like NBarden said, use The Trees are Strong to hopefully finish off the companions.

Elves/Ringwraith:
1X Frodo, Resolute Hobbit
1X The One Ring, The Ruling Ring

Fellowship (30 cards):
1X Aragorn, Heir to the White City
1X Legolas, Fearless Marksman
1X Cirdan, the Shipwright
1X Lorien Swordsman
1X Balglin, Elven Warrior
1X Golradir, Councilor of Imladris
1X Dinedal, Silent Scout
1X Calaglin, Elf of Lorien
1X Galdor, Councilor from the West
1X Galadriel, Lady of the Golden Wood
1X Arwen, Lady Undomiel
3X Arwen, Elven Rider
2X Friends of Old
2X Elven Sword
1X Gift of the Evenstar
1X Long-Knives of Legolas
1X Elven Bow
1X Defiance
1X Still Needed
1X Banner of Elbereth
1X Sam, Needer of Vittles
2X Hobbit Sword
2X Noble Intentions
1X Bill the Pony

Minions (30 cards):
3X Cirith Ungol Scavenger
3X Cirith Ungol Soldier
4X Cirith Ungol Watchman
3X Cirith Ungol Warrior
2X Isengard Smith
1X Orc Trooper
2X Morgul Predator
1X Ulaire Cantea, Thrall of the One
1X Orthanc Berserker
1X Morgul Vanguard
1X Ulaire Attea, The Easterling
1X Morgul Detachment
1X Too Great and Terrible
2X Morgul Axe
2X Houses of Lamentation
2X Ten Times Outnumbered

The fellowship strategy of this deck is to kind of choke the opponent, but if they do manage to cope, then hopefully my elves will be able to handle them with archery and the few strength bonuses.
The minion strategy is to take advantage of the stuff that's printed on the card I guess. I think the cards are pretty decent. :P

I would love to hear your opinion on my deck. Also, before I get criticised and receive comments on how my deck would get owned, just remember that this is my first ever deckbuilding experience with LOTR:TCG. I'm just looking to create 2 fun decks to play with my gf. :)

Cheers,
Kenddrick

If at all possible you might want to put more events in the deck to power up Cirdan TS

I don't have much event left. I'm meeting this guy in my country to get a load of cards from him, so hopefully I'll be able to make some changes after that. In the meantime, how's my deck? :)

Well, it is kinda all over the place. Especially the second deck. The size is right though, haha. Come back when you have the other cards, that way you are able to use the full potential of certain cards or certain deck types.

Okay! I should be getting around 1000 cards this week from this fellow countryman! :)
