So I thought I'd just get input on yet another form of media...TV shows? Favorite TV shows, the ones you're expecting back...yeah.
At the moment, I'm very into Heroes, and anxiously expecting Season 3 in September. Gonna be some good stuff...
And apart from that, I also love Firefly, which should've never been cancelled.
-
That is awesome, 'cause it means Heroes 2 will be available on DVD in Europe somewhere this year!
-
1) Battlestar Galactica
2) Lost
3) Prison Break
4) Heroes
.. are my favorites. Those are about the only shows I watch besides sports, mainly American football, auto racing (of any sort), basketball and soccer. ~ Chris
I also agree with CG that Firefly should have never been cancelled, one of my all-time favorites.
-
I only have time to follow one show, since most of them require you to watch every single minute to keep up. Right now, that show is Lost. I can't believe we have to wait so long for the next season now! :-\

In the middle of heroes season 2 over here in the UK, its freakin awesome!

Heroes season 2 is TERRIBLE! Especially compared to season 1 which was utterly mind-blowing. BSG is pretty good, but apart from that there aren't many good shows on at the moment. Obviously I couldn't agree more that Firefly should never have been cancelled.
My problem which watching TV shows these days, is that since seeing Babylon 5, they all seem terrible. Babylon 5 is literally the best structured TV show I have ever seen, and you should all check it out. It's from the early 90s and was absolutely cutting edge and really controversial in its day. It was the first show to make extensive use of computer generated graphics (thereby proving that it was possible) and one of the first (and the best) show to make episodes that linked one to the other and from season to season. It was written like a novel with 5 seasons that each affect each other - in the last episode, they still pick up elements from the first. It's not like Smallville or disappointing Heroes where each season is self-contained and when something changes and characters develop, it often has a tendency to change back again. Without B5, shows like Heroes, Lost and BSG could simply not have existed.
Basically it's amazing and watching it has made all other TV series seem shallow and pointless.

Heh, just you wait and see...it goes places, for sure. Which also reminds me, I'd have to be reaaally careful with spoilers.
Overall, Heroes Season 2 wasn't as good, but I wouldn't call it terrible. First of all, it's got setup for the next season. Plots are moving and ready. I wouldn't be so quick to say that the seasons are "self-contained". The plots flow between seasons, and there's stuff that'll come right back from early seasons. It's divided into "Volumes", but it's intended to be an ongoing plot. And I wouldn't say that things change back again. Most of the major characters have gone through some sort of major personality change, possibly excluding Sylar, who just got creepier. And it's stuck. Give Heroes a season or two more. It's not fair to compare it to a 5-season series. Would you compare single-season Babylon 5 to Firefly?

But the thing is the changes have not stuck. Some characters are in the same position at the end of season 2 of Heroes as they are at the beginning of season 1. I won't post any details because it will ruin the plot for people who haven't seen it like lem0n, but the changes so far haven't stuck. They have re-used old themes, but not nearly as well as B5 did.

I just bought seasons 1-5 of Family Guy (love the show), and also Season 1 of Heroes (never saw it, so I decided to give it a shot, and since I had some store credit to spend, I picked it up). On TV, I follow Lost, and whenever possible I watch Two and a Half Men. Used to like Scrubs, as well, but haven't been able to follow it lately.

PM me about that...because I'm having trouble seeing that for most of the major characters...especially the most iconic ones. That, and it's only the second season. Give it time.

LOST is just the most amazing thing ever to happen to television. Alternatively I absolutely love Scrubs and family guy and of course old favourites like Friends and The Simpsons. My favourite ever TV series though has to be Band of Brothers.
-
Scrubs is freakin hilarious but LOST?? Dude after season 1 i was hooked season 2 got me so bored and frustrated i wanted to shoot every member of the cast its ridiculous. What a stupid show! I have stopped watching and ppl tell me what has been happening and it makes me despair, its a load of carp.

I find Lost to be very interesting. The characters are great (with a few minor exceptions), the story is at least believable if somewhat fantasy-like (with enough science sprinkled in to make sense MOST of the time), and the plot is convoluted, yes, but hasn't "jumped the shark" just yet. Just when you start to think it's getting too wild and crazy or too boring, some new twist pulls you back to the edge of your seat and makes you go "huh" or "OH MY LORD!" (depending on what kind of twist it is :P). It keeps my interest, which is a hard thing to say about shows these days, and it's unpredictable. It's just the kind of show I need: one that keeps my mind working just enough to fix me to my seat, but doesn't make it outright explode either.
-
Well I agree that season 2 of Lost sucked. But since then it has definitely recovered. :) I'm not really sure what to think though after the cliffhanger left at the end of this season. :-\
-
Admittedly, I didn't start watching regularly until Season 3. Still haven't seen ALL of 1, and even less of 2, but I caught the highlights enough that I know in general what happened. If I ever do get (heh) lost, I just check out Lostpedia to get back up to speed on what I missed from a prior season/episode. Worked out well enough so far.

Jericho owns...but its gotten canceled twice...hells kitchen...the simpsons...
