They work great with the new cards though.  Especially with the age's end tentacles.  Use them with evil-smelling fens.  In fact, one of the hardest shadows I ever faced was all tentacles and watchers.

Every so often I try to make a sets 1-13 deck with tentacles, Moria archers, Frenzy, and wounding Gollum. They don't do too well... But they are fun to play.

The deck I faced used 4 copies of each tentacle and 4 copies of the watcher in the water.  That only leads to 20, but I can't remember what else he threw in there.  I built one once too.  Except I added 4 copies of the balrog.  Again, this wasn't for fotr... it was casual.  The deck was mildly effective.  My opponents face dropped to the floor after fighting the balrog 3 times though.  It was great

Pack Dark Places x4, bid to go second, add some Goblin Runners, Goblin Armory, Goblin Scimitar, etc. If you get lucky, you can swarm at 4. Not reliable, but it's fun when it works! :)
