Has anyone played the lord of the rings battle strategy game?  Is it any good?  Is it worth investing in?

I'm guessing this is what you meant.

I don't know about you, but to me, this game is rather expensive to play. Plus, there's a lot of work involved as well. You need to buy paints as well as paint them well. And you still need to find people to play with. To me, the cost and other reuirements that's needed in order to play puts me off. But if you have the money and time, sure why not?

Cheers,
Kenddrick :)

Ah, that one.
But if you have the money and time, sure why not?

You need someone to play with! I would play it - but I decided to play the lotr TCG.

Hmm, I get the same opinions from other message boards and gamers I know in my area.  I was real big into mage knight, so naturally when I found an lotr minis game i went a little loco.  The cost and time associated with the game doesn't scare me, it is the fact that I would be the only player in the western hemisphere that plays the game.  I guess I could always use them for RPG minis.  Thanks for the advice everyone.

Cool jdizzy, I played Mage Knight as well.  Still play Dungeons from time to time.

I decided to stick with one Lotr game to save my wallet some pain.

I have played it quite a number of times - it's pretty good, if you like that kind of thing. I think Warhammer is a lot better, but it's still a fun time. I would recommend the Mines of Moria set, because it gives you plastic fellowship, cave troll and lots of Orcs plus scenarios: it's just a game in a box.

I was thinking the same thing.  Mines would be a good place to start
