Title: Gondor Wraiths
Post by: TheJord on June 09, 2008, 11:09:11 AM
*The One Ring, The Great Ring(19P1)
*Frodo, Hope of Free Peoples(7C317)

2x *Anduril, Sword that was Broken(17R27)
2x *Narsil, Forged by Telchar(17R31)
1x *Ring of Barahir(6R55)
1x *Aragorn, King in Exile(1P365)
1x *Isildur, Sword-Bearer(18R54)
2x *King of the Dead(8R38)
2x *Shadow Host(8R43)
2x Dead Man of Dunharrow(10C27)
1x Oathbreaker(8C41)
2x *Hardy Garrison(10U33)
4x Gondor Bowmen(3R41)
3x Stronger and More Terrible(8C47)
3x The Faithful Stone(18R50)
1x *Faramir's Company(18C49)
2x *Aragorn's Bow, Ranger's Longbow(15R56)
2x *Sting, Elven Long Knife(18R113)
4x Spectral sword(8U46)

This is my attempt at a [Gondor] Wraith deck, its not particularly powerful but has exerting and healing powers, and some wounding. I'm thinking about some Defend it and Hope.

Funny card to put in is Foes of Mordor, which allows you to exert your Wraiths really easily. Also, Aragorn, Driven By Need makes so much more sense in a Wraith deck as he gets a bonus for threats and can remove them.

Swept Away is also an awesome card. That way, you don't need to heal your Wraiths because they can't die!

Thran's dead on.

Pallando, anyone?

Pallando is a good idea, but Swept Away means dead RB against an archery deck :(

Actually, the RB should be Isildur with the Ring of Rings.

Swept Away just prevents EXHAUSTED wraiths from taking wounds. And you can lose the condition at any time if you see yourself up against archery.

And this is why we pack Bilbo, Bearer of Things Burgled + Consorting with Wizards.  Okay...so he still eats archery, but the Ring of Rings can help with that.

I'd personally run Isildur + Ring of Rings, and it might be time to dust off your old Great Shield. ;)

But I think there's a TD Shield which is the same, but better? O_o

Shield of the White Tree has a weird and nifty regroup ability that can cause a sort of secondary hand clog by restricting drawing. Used in clogging Shadow deck, it could be quite annoying.

I don't think it's worth playing two Shadow Hosts. They are hard to play, and unique, so the second copy is only good for healing. Fine for the King of the Dead but not great for the Shadow Host.
