Title: The Grand Opening of The Last Homely House
Post by: DáinIronfoot on June 09, 2008, 05:58:06 PM
May 3rd, 2008.

It was a scary time for those from the Cobra Cards community. Our beloved boards had suddenly passed away, and we were left without a home. Then Kralik flung his doors open wide, and we moved into our glorious new home, the Last Homely House for LOTR TCG fans--and card gamers in general--everywhere.

I just wanted to A.) test the calendar to see exactly how it worked with one-time events, and B.) mark that date anyway. ;D

It's easy to add "holidays" that repeat every year (done in the admin panel), but one-time events seem to require adding a corresponding post somewhere in the forums. So I figured I may as well test it out now rather than later when I really NEEDED it for something.

Why did CC close down?

CC was originally an online card game retailer. A message board grew beside it, and as the card supplies dried up Cobra could no longer justify maintaining the rest.

At least that's how I remember it.

More to the point, the CC forums crashed and completely stopped working. I think Cobra couldn't justify fixing it.
