Well, since it looks like it's going to be at least a few days until CC and these forums merge, and I am just ITCHING to get back to full-time DCing, let's go back to the rather random DC method that made me famous (or was it infamous?) at Decipher's forums and my early Cobra Cards history. None of this rigid sticking with one culture from start to finish, but somewhat random DCs!
Still, since I'm such a creature of habit, I have to have SOME theme in what I do. So while these cards will branch across many cultures (and even multiple sets), they're all themed around Helm's Deep.
Let's kick it off with its non-Rohirrim defenders. Enjoy! ;D
[2]•Gimli, Defender of Helm’s Deep [Dwarven]
Companion • Dwarf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Berethor
Damage +1.
While at a battleground or mountain site, Gimli is strength +1.
Assignment: Exert Gimli and add a threat to make a minion lose or gain fierce until the regroup phase.
“‘It does my heart good to be so close to the mountains...this is good quality rock.’”
[2]•Legolas, Defender of Helm’s Deep (G)
Companion • Elf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Berethor
While Legolas bears a unique hand weapon, he is damage +1.
Each time you play a (G) or [Elven] skirmish event, you may make exert Legolas to make him strength +1. Then, if Legolas is at a battleground, you may heal him.
“‘This is a fight we cannot win. It will become a massacre.’”
Okay, I cheated a little: the second of these is NOT all-new, it's just been a good long while since I posted it. As you can likely tell by the signet, these are both from my The Third Age game-centered set, Ages of Middle-earth. Oh, and the (G) culture is a close-to-but-not-quite- [Elven] culture called "Mirkwood" that appears throughout my sets.
Anyway, these two both like battlegrounds, using them to get stronger. And to my knowledge, this is the first Elf yet with a built-in damage bonus, making this the first pure fighting version of what is usually everyone's favorite archer.
Now, some more "conventional" versions of the same pair, these from my Two Towers-centered set, The Way Into Mordor. The first of these is actually one of the set's two starters (Sméagol being the other).
[2]•Gimli, Stout and Strong [Dwarven]
Companion • Dwarf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Thorin
Valiant. Damage +1.
Skirmish: If Gimli is not assigned to a skirmish, exert him to have him replace a companion (except the Ring-bearer) in a skirmish. Gimli gains hunter 3 until the end of that skirmish.
“‘Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu!’”
[2]•Legolas, Sharp and Hopeful [Elven]
Companion • Elf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Théoden
Valiant. Hunter 1.
At the start of each archery phase, you may remove an [Elven] or (G) token to make Legolas an archer until the regroup phase.
Each time Legolas wins a fierce skirmish, you may remove or reinforce a culture token.
“‘It is not mist or cloud that defeats my eyes: there is a veiling shadow that some power lays upon the land, and it marches slowly down stream.’”
Note the valiant keyword, in use outside of [Rohan]! There are only a VERY small handful of non-Rohirrim that will get it, like Aragorn, and only when it really makes sense. For this pair, I figured it made a LOT of sense, tying them solidly to [Rohan] without them necessarily having to have the Théoden signet.
More later!

[2]•Gimli, Stout and Strong [Dwarven]
Companion • Dwarf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Thorin
Valiant. Damage +1.
Assignment: Spot a wounded companion assigned to a skirmish and exert Gimli to make him strength +1 and defender +1 until the regroup phase.
“‘Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu!’”
I don't have a rulebook in front of me to check, but don't the actual assignments come after all assignment events and special abilities? If so, then Gimli's text would be difficult to pull off, unless you used something like Crashing Calvary (http://lotrtcgdb.com/pages/LOTR13013.html).

[2]•Gimli, Defender of Helm’s Deep [Dwarven]
Companion • Dwarf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Berethor
Damage +1.
While at a mountain site, Gimli is strength +1.
While at a battleground, Gimli is strength +1.
Assignment: Exert Gimli to make a minion lose or gain fierce until the regroup phase.
“‘It does my heart good to be so close to the mountains...this is good quality rock.’”
Does he not seem significantly better than say Faithful Companion or Eager Hunter? If you took out the ability, I would say he was just about OK. Or, if you took out the base damage bonus and replace one of the strength +1 with damage +1.
[2]•Legolas, Defender of Helm’s Deep [MtGGreen]
Companion • Elf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Berethor
While Legolas bears a unique hand weapon, he is damage +1.
Each time you play a [MtGGreen] or [Elven] skirmish event, you may make Legolas strength +1. Then, if Legolas is at a battleground, you may exert him to make him strength +1 again.
“‘This is a fight we cannot win. It will become a massacre.’”
I think it should probably apply only to events played during Legolas' skirmish (especially as damage bonus is so rare for Elves), but otherwise fine.
[2]•Gimli, Stout and Strong [Dwarven]
Companion • Dwarf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Thorin
Valiant. Damage +1.
Assignment: Spot a wounded companion assigned to a skirmish and exert Gimli to make him strength +1 and defender +1 until the regroup phase.
“‘Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu!’”
Kralik's right, you assign companions to minions only after all assignment events and special abilities have been played. This would only trigger if the wounded companion was assigned by an event or special ability. I suggest taking out the defender bonus, making it skirmish and making him like Gandalf, White Rider.
[2]•Legolas, Hopeful and Fair [Elven]
Companion • Elf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Théoden
Valiant. Hunter 2.
At the start of each archery phase, you may remove an [Elven] or [MtGGreen] token to make Legolas an archer until the regroup phase.
Each time Legolas wins a skirmish, you may remove or reinforce a culture token.
“‘It is not mist or cloud that defeats my eyes: there is a veiling shadow that some power lays upon the land, and it marches slowly down stream.’”
Far too versatile, and with a strong hunter bonus? Take it down to 1 at least, then make it so that he can reinforce only an [Elven] or [MtGGreen] token and cannot remove and he'd probably be fine. Powerful, but fine. How about, 'Sharp and Fair'?
Oh, note the valiant keyword, in use outside of [Rohan]! There are only a VERY small handful of non-Rohirrim that will get it, like Aragorn, and only when it really makes sense. For this pair, I figured it made a LOT of sense, tying them solidly to [Rohan] without them necessarily having to have the Théoden signet.
Except they don't because I can't think of any [Rohan] cards that reference anything other than Valiant Men.

[2]•Gimli, Defender of Helm’s Deep [Dwarven]
Companion • Dwarf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Berethor
Damage +1.
While at a mountain site, Gimli is strength +1.
While at a battleground, Gimli is strength +1.
Assignment: Exert Gimli to make a minion lose or gain fierce until the regroup phase.
“‘It does my heart good to be so close to the mountains...this is good quality rock.’”
Hmm maybe and add a threat or something, seems a bit good. But perhaps its ok.
[2]•Legolas, Defender of Helm’s Deep (G)
Companion • Elf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Berethor
While Legolas bears a unique hand weapon, he is damage +1.
Each time you play a (G) or [Elven] skirmish event, you may make Legolas strength +1. Then, if Legolas is at a battleground, you may exert him to make him strength +1 again.
“‘This is a fight we cannot win. It will become a massacre.’”
Seems quite good, not sure about legy being d+1 but ok.
[2]•Gimli, Stout and Strong [Dwarven]
Companion • Dwarf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Thorin
Valiant. Damage +1.
Assignment: Spot a wounded companion assigned to a skirmish and exert Gimli to make him strength +1 and defender +1 until the regroup phase.
“‘Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu!’”
Assignments are done all at once. So this doesnt work.
[2]•Legolas, Hopeful and Fair [Elven]
Companion • Elf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Théoden
Valiant. Hunter 2.
At the start of each archery phase, you may remove an [Elven] or (G) token to make Legolas an archer until the regroup phase.
Each time Legolas wins a skirmish, you may remove or reinforce a culture token.
“‘It is not mist or cloud that defeats my eyes: there is a veiling shadow that some power lays upon the land, and it marches slowly down stream.’”
Hopeful is ok fair is a bit dull. Meh hes ok.

Tweaked the cards, the most radical changes coming on Gimli, Stout and Strong, as I pretty much rewrote the card as Thran suggested. I added a small hunter bonus to make up for the lack of defender...too much?
Here are two more non-Rohirrim valiant companions. Again, I cheated a bit...the first of these you've seen before. But he was plenty controversial then, so I figured a rehash certainly couldn't hurt. Enjoy!
[4]•Aragorn, Man of the West [Gondor]
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 4
Signet: Théoden
Valiant. Hunter 1. Each [Rohan] companion with resistance 5 or more gains the Aragorn signet.
While Aragorn does not bear a [Gondor] artifact and you can spot another [Rohan] Man, Aragorn is also a [Rohan] Man.
Aragorn is strength +1 for each of the following races you can spot: [Rohan] Man, Elf, Dwarf.
“‘They fight beside you because they would not be parted from you.’”
A multipurpose Aragorn. He's probably best in a rainbow fellowship, since he can get up to 10 strength (11 if you count the hunter), but he's also mucho useful with lots of Rohirrim thanks to the fact that he shares his signet with them (and remember...signets are big again in my sets). Still, as I recall, there were people that thought he was just too much, so I tweaked the signet thing (used to be for any unique [Rohan] companion) and lowered his initial strength to 7. I think that, considering his resistance is lower than newer Aragorns, and that it's hard to get full use out of all of his text in the same deck (chances are you have to go one route or the other), that he's alright. But that may just be me.
[4]•Gandalf, Stormcrow [Gandalf]
Companion • Wizard
Strength: 7
Vitality: 4
Signet: Théoden
Valiant.
Each time Gandalf wins a skirmish, you may choose one: heal a companion with the Gandalf signet or bearing a [Gandalf] condition; or discard a condition borne by a character.
“‘No counsel have I to give to those that despair. Yet counsel I could give, and words I could speak to you.’”
I know the subtitle is technically already taken, but it was by one of those funky customized online cards Big D made, so I don't think it really counts. ;D If you think I should come up with something else, though, I had considered Herald of Strange Events.
Anyway, this is the fourth of our mini-theme of valiant companions outside of the [Rohan] culture, and probably the last (for this set, at least). Interestingly, he's best not with companions who have the Théoden signet, but those with HIS signet. There will be several [Gandalf] conditions he can slap on folks in the set, though, so the healing can be spread around to those with all manner of signets (or none at all!) with a little effort. I really think his text makes a LOT of sense in the context of how he's such an inspiration to everyone around him in The Two Towers...freeing Théoden, encouraging the Three Hunters, saving Rohan during the charge he leads at Helm's Deep, etc. I think a "healer" type like this is long overdue. But it's not TOO easy, since he has to win his skirmishes (and the text provides no help in doing so). Balanced well enough, do you think?

[4]•Aragorn, Man of the West [Gondor]
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 4
Signet: Théoden
Valiant. Hunter 1. Each [Rohan] companion with resistance 5 or more gains the Aragorn signet.
While Aragorn does not bear a [Gondor] artifact, he is also a [Rohan] Man.
Aragorn is strength +1 for each of the following you can spot: [Rohan] Man, Elf, Dwarf.
“‘They fight beside you because they would not be parted from you.’”
Here we go again, new board but nothing has changed lol! Must he be 2 cultures? Anyway he's ok beyond that.
Sounds good to me.
-
[4]•Aragorn, Man of the West [Gondor]
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 4
Signet: Théoden
Valiant. Hunter 1. Each [Rohan] companion with resistance 5 or more gains the Aragorn signet.
While Aragorn does not bear a [Gondor] artifact, he is also a [Rohan] Man.
Aragorn is strength +1 for each of the following you can spot: [Rohan] Man, Elf, Dwarf.
“‘They fight beside you because they would not be parted from you.’”

Yes, sorry. :P I'm going to be rather insistent on that. I have a handful of characters that will have two cultures. I think it's fun and interesting and doesn't break anything, so that's why I'm doing it.
-
What about cards that say spot a companion of X culture and one of X culture. This sort of thing buggers it lol. He can use hidan on himself!
-

Sure. I don't see the problem with that.
However, perhaps a LITTLE more cultural enforcement would be good. Check it again in a second.
-
Ahhh much better :D
-
Tweaked the cards, the most radical changes coming on Gimli, Stout and Strong, as I pretty much rewrote the card as Thran suggested. I added a small hunter bonus to make up for the lack of defender...too much?
I think all of those above cards are actually far too good.
[4]•Aragorn, Man of the West [Gondor]
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 4
Signet: Théoden
Valiant. Hunter 1. Each [Rohan] companion with resistance 5 or more gains the Aragorn signet.
While Aragorn does not bear a [Gondor] artifact and you can spot another [Rohan] Man, Aragorn is also a [Rohan] Man.
Aragorn is strength +1 for each of the following you can spot: [Rohan] Man, Elf, Dwarf.
“‘They fight beside you because they would not be parted from you.’”
He's fine, I just think his last ability is boring for such an interesting card. In fact, I think he'd more than good enough as he is, so I would remove the last line altogether (and if you're really worried, put his strength back up to 8, though with the Hunter bonus that makes him perhaps too good).
This guy I like and is the first of these valiant companions for me not to think is OP.

I think all of those above cards are actually far too good.
Well I am a man...er, dwarf of the people, Thran, so I tweaked all of them further. More to your liking now?
Remember that for Legolas, DoHD, the ability is useless outside of his own skirmish, since the strength would only last until the end of that skirmish anyway. I wanted to save on text, since it's not really necessary.
-
As you say it only last for that skirmish so i believe that clarification was unnecessary.
I also agree with thran that the first lot were a bit too good.
-
I also agree with thran that the first lot were a bit too good.
Again, they're changed now. Better? Worse? Pretty much the same?

[2]•Gimli, Stout and Strong [Dwarven]
Companion • Dwarf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Thorin
Valiant. Damage +1. Hunter 1.
Skirmish: If Gimli is not assigned to a skirmish, exert him to have him replace a companion (except the Ring-bearer) in a skirmish. Gimli gains hunter 2 (or hunter 3 if replacing a Man, Elf, or Dwarf) until the end of that skirmish.
“‘Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu!’”
[2]•Legolas, Sharp and Hopeful [Elven]
Companion • Elf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Théoden
Valiant. Hunter 1.
While you can spot a Dwarf or Man companion, Legolas gains hunter 1.
For the Gimli: I would replace the hunter bonus in the ability with the original strength boost, take out the parentheses and probably take out his given hunter bonus as well, because the ability to swap out companions is amazing.
For the Legolas: I would remove the first line as it seems too much text and he's still awesome without it.
First lot are fine, though and yes, I forgot that skirmish thing about your [MtGGreen] Legolas... he's fine.
Still think that the Aragorn is too good. Partly because having too cultures is such a rare and #$&*@! useful ability (especially for Men), he really doesn't need to hit strength 11 from his game text - it's just overkill.
Thranduil
-
Tweaked Gimli and Legolas again. I'm leaving Aragorn, for now. I'd prefer perhaps one more reviewer on him...? Gold would be the reward for anyone willing. (I've already given you and lem0n gold, Thran.)
Alright, I've been itching to spoil this guy and his sword for a LONG time, so here goes. ;D Enjoy!
[2]•Haldir, Warrior of Lórien [Elven]
Companion • Elf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Aragorn
Archer. Hunter 1. To play, spot 2 [Elven] companions.
While the Shadow has initiative, Haldir is strength -2.
Archery or Skirmish: Exert an Elf archer and discard 2 cards from hand (or one card if at a battleground) to wound an Orc or Uruk-hai.
Haldir rallied two hundred of the elves of Lothlórien to join him, and together they marched, bearing the banners of their Lady Galadriel.
Originally, his drawback text was "Haldir is strength -1 for each site an opponent controls (limit -3)", but I think the initiative thing keeps him MUCH more balanced, especially in light of his ability...don't you? Is he balanced enough, do you think?
[1]•Blade of the Golden Wood [Elven]
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be an Elf. When you play this weapon, exert bearer or add 2 threats.
If bearer is exhausted, he or she is damage +1.
If bearer is Haldir, he is enduring.
Perhaps the most interesting weapon I've made to date. A sword that gives damage AND enduring to Elves? Has Crazy Uncle Dáin truly lost his mind?! Probably, but I don't think this card is the cause or result. :P It's costly to play with the twilight AND an exertion or threats (though the exertion actually helps Haldir, of course). The damage is limited to exhausted Elves, which in most cases is not something you want to have.
Obviously, this sword is best on an exhausted Haldir, turning him into (at least!) a strength +6, damage +1 beast. Yes, this IS what I intended, because Haldir at Helm's Deep WAS a beast who kept fighting while all fell around him. But getting him to that point is very risky, because he's obviously then just a wound away from death, so you better hope he wins whatever skirmish you throw him into! Or that the opponent doesn't have a direct-wounding minion...like, say, an Uruk with a large sword he brings down on Haldir's head!
-
[2]•Haldir, Warrior of Lórien [Elven]
Companion • Elf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Aragorn
Archer. Hunter 1. To play, spot 2 [Elven] companions.
While the Shadow has initiative, Haldir is strength -2.
Archery or Skirmish: Exert an Elf companion or archer companion and discard 2 cards from hand (or one card if at a battleground) to wound an Orc or Uruk-hai.
Haldir rallied two hundred of the elves of Lothlórien to join him, and together they marched, bearing the banners of their Lady Galadriel.
Really interesting card, but his ability still seems too good and too versatile. I would actually say 'Exert an Elf archer companion...' and I think that would sort it out all round.
Originally, his drawback text was "Haldir is strength -1 for each site an opponent controls (limit -3)", but I think the initiative thing keeps him MUCH more balanced, especially in light of his ability...don't you? Is he balanced enough, do you think?
Good thing you changed it, otherwise I would have been screaming how broken he was!
[1]•Blade of the Golden Wood [Elven]
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be an Elf. When you play this weapon, exert bearer or add 2 threats.
If bearer is exhausted, he or she is damage +1.
If bearer is Haldir, he is enduring.
To be honest, even with its huge drawbacks and such, I would take the strength bonus down to +1 for 2 main reasons. 1) I think it balances better, and 2) because [Elven] weapons almost never give a +2 bonus.
Interesting pair though - I like the concepts! I think you should probably stop giving Elves damage bonuses now, though... ;)
Thranduil

I guess I'll chime in, though I'm not experienced with DC's. (IE: I need the gold ;D)
First off shouldn't it be "for each of the following races you can spot: [Rohan] Man, Elf, Dwarf." Otherwise he could be 18 base with 9 companions. otherwise it looks like alot of fun. I actually like the Hidan idea. I don't think its too powerful.
Love it!
Gimli, Legolas, and Haldir all seem balanced to me. 8)
Blade of the Golden Wood is an awesome idea! The cost is tricky though... For any regular ol elf the 1 cost is ok, but overall I think it should be 2, because it kicks major behind on Haldir.
-
I'd cut the hunter on Aragorn
Uh that archery ability has too many ors...make it archer companion, and one card IMSO
[1]•Blade of the Golden Wood [Elven]
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be an Elf. When you play this weapon, exert bearer or add 2 threats.
If bearer is exhausted, he or she is damage +1.
If bearer is Haldir, he is enduring.
works for me....yeah...I can't believe I just said that... :o
he brings it down on haldirs back methinks... ;)
-
[2]•Haldir, Warrior of Lórien [Elven]
Companion • Elf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Signet: Aragorn
Archer. Hunter 1. To play, spot 2 [Elven] companions.
While the Shadow has initiative, Haldir is strength -2.
Archery or Skirmish: Exert an Elf companion or archer companion and discard 2 cards from hand (or one card if at a battleground) to wound an Orc or Uruk-hai.
Haldir rallied two hundred of the elves of Lothlórien to join him, and together they marched, bearing the banners of their Lady Galadriel.
Think he's cool.
[1]•Blade of the Golden Wood [Elven]
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be an Elf. When you play this weapon, exert bearer or add 2 threats.
If bearer is exhausted, he or she is damage +1.
If bearer is Haldir, he is enduring.
Fine.
-
Alright...made a few tweaks. Hopefully they're good now. I'm surprised that there was so little controversy with Haldir's sword, but hey, I ain't complaining!
Here's another Elf and another possession. I could use some lore for the first one, if anyone has a good idea. Thanks, and enjoy!
[2]•Belurion, Gallant Fighter [Elven]
Companion • Elf
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 7
To play, spot an Elf and a Man.
While Belurion bears a hand weapon, he is strength +1 and damage +1.
I swear, I'm almost done with [Elven] damage. This guy is pretty representative of most of the [Elven] warriors in this set, though. It's a nod to the old-school Elves of the Tower block that turned ranged weapons into bonuses (but lost archery)...several of these guys will turn HAND weapons into bonuses, encouraging their use in a culture that has decent ones, but doesn't feature them much in practice (at least from my gaming experience).
[2]•Legolas' Pauldrons [Rohan]
Possession • Armor
To play, spot a [Rohan] Man. Bearer must be a Man or an Elf.
At the start of each skirmish involving bearer, you may discard a card from hand to make bearer take no more than one wound until the end of that skirmish.
Response: If bearer is Legolas and he is about to take a wound in a skirmish, discard this possession to prevent all wounds to him until the regroup phase.
This is a just a fun little card that ties together two unusual cultures; there will be several cards that tie [Rohan] and [Elven] in this set, thanks to them fighting side by side at Helm's Deep. This one specifically references the only armor we ever see on Legolas: the leather/steel shoulder pauldrons he wore while defending the Deeping Wall. It works perfectly well even if you're ONLY using [Rohan] Men, of course, but it's best on Legolas.
-
[2]•Belurion, Gallant Fighter [Elven]
Companion • Elf
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 7
To play, spot an Elf and a unique Man.
While Belurion bears a hand weapon, he is strength +1 and damage +1.
Why the unique man? The difference between this guy and the Naith is obviously he still gets the bonuses from the weapon.
A bit wordy, but looks good otherwise.

why not?
[2]•Legolas' Pauldrons [Rohan]
Possession • Armor
To play, spot a [Rohan] Man. Bearer must be a Man or an Elf.
At the start of each skirmish involving bearer, you may discard a card from hand to make bearer take no more than one wound until the end of that skirmish.
Response: If bearer is Legolas and he is about to take a wound in a skirmish, discard this possession to prevent all wounds to him until the regroup phase.
This is a just a fun little card that ties together two unusual cultures; there will be several cards that tie [Rohan] and [Elven] in this set, thanks to them fighting side by side at Helm's Deep.
fighting side by side? while there was legolas but show me a passage in TTT that has other elves ;)
as for the card FBM
and as for lore, in the first card
My name is made up by a crazy dwarf...I should n't have been in the movie... I wasn't in the book... I feel depressed...I need Grima, Grief Counselor

Cool.

Alrighty...let's switch to the OTHER side of the battlefield. These two were created for one of AC's contests way back, so you probably don't remember them. They're as good as new! ;D Enjoy.

Minion • Uruk-hai

Damage +1.
This minion is strength +1 for each wound on a character in its skirmish.

Few of Saruman’s berserkers survive to become veterans. Those that do are incredibly deadly warriors.
I think hunter 2 is probably pushing it, 1 would be fine. And also I think I'd like his strength to be reduced in favour of some extra vitality - a [6] cost vitality 2 minion often isn't a good way to spend your twilight.

Understood, but his strength is so high BECAUSE of his low vitality. I think Big D got ONE thing right in the change from [Isengard] to [Uruk] when they made the new berserkers have lower vitality. I envision all of mine having only 2, perhaps a couple with only 1, and MAYBE one or two with 3. I think this guy is pretty well costed for his strength, with the low vitality keeping it (and his regroup ability) in check.

If you can get him to survive to the regroup i think it should be for each free peoples culture, or, "over 1". And drop hunter to 1.

Alright, I reluctantly removed hunter from the first berserker and reduced it to 1 for the second.
Now, a couple somewhat complicated but cool cards from that same AC contest. Enjoy!
[3]•Bloodlust [Isengard]
Condition • Support Area
Each time a Free Peoples character is killed or a follower is discarded, you may exert an Uruk-hai to place an [Isengard] token here.
Skirmish: Remove an [Isengard] token from here to make an Uruk-hai strength +2 for each character in the dead pile.
Skirmish: Spot X tokens here and discard this condition to exert X companions.
The more enemies that fell before the Berserkers, the fiercer they became.
[2]•Wave Upon Wave [Isengard]
Condition • Support Area
Each time you play an Uruk-hai with Berserk or Berserker in its title, you may place an [Isengard] token here.
Maneuver: Remove X [Isengard] tokens from here to play an Uruk-hai from hand; that minion’s twilight cost is -X.
Regroup: Discard an Uruk-hai to take control of a site (or 2 sites if you can spot at least 3 [Isengard] tokens here). Discard this condition.
For every assaulter struck down or thrown from the walls, it seemed two took its place.

I really feel that this card is too complicated and I would take out the exertion to place a token and make the first skirmish ability simply make an Uruk-hai strength +2 (and maybe damage +1 in some condition).

I would definitely remove the parentheses - it's really fine without it.

after reading the FOTR thread, this title conjured up bad images... LOL maybe make the freeps assign X wounds to companions? maybe make it heal a uruk to place a token IDK.

it seems like a keyword would make the whole thing so much easier...like reworking enduring. fine

Cut the follower discard thing and change the second line to berserker only me thinks.

The maneuever is a bit too powerful. Its like saying every 4the or 5th berserker is free. In a berserker deck this is broken to the extreme. Should be something like remove 3 tokens here to play one from hand for -2. And id cut the parenthesis on the last ability.

Ugh...looks like I have some extensive retooling to do with that last pair. :cpunch: While I figure out what the heck to do with them, here's one that will hopefully cause less headaches. Enjoy!
[2]•Crawled and Clambered [Isengard]
Condition • Support Area
To play, spot an [Isengard] minion.
Each time you play an [Isengard] Uruk-hai at a battleground site, if you cannot spot 4 tokens here, you may remove [1] to add an [Isengard] token here.
Skirmish: Remove 2 [Isengard] tokens from here to make an Uruk-hai strength +3.
“They streamed down from Helm’s Gate until all above the Dike was empty of them, but below it they were packed like swarming flies.”

I like.
I wonder, though, if maybe the wording would be a bit nicer as "While you cannot spot 4 tokens here, each time you play an [Isengard] Uruk-hai at a battleground site you may remove [1] to add an [Isengard] token here."
A little simpler, IMHO. But then, maybe not. I dunno.

Looks good. I think I'd prefer it to be not restricted to [Isengard] Uruk-hai, however just as it's not the sort of thing that's normally done.
