I challenge you to write the longest, most-coherent sentence using nothing but words or abbreviations that form auto-links to cards in the database.
I shall begin:
I will go under the living earth with all possible speed, a path appointed from deep in shadow!
-
At his command, a fool counts but one mighty steed stronger and more terrible, hidden even from her spider poison.
-
Very impressive, lurtzy. Very impressive.
-
any other takers?

any other takers?
Over ten years later, I've got you with a nineteen card combo.
The Nine Servants of Sauron, Always Threatening, Streaming to the Field-- Wounded Foul Things Bound to Its Fate, Armed for Battle, Battle Tested, Massing in the East-- Must Do Without Hope While We Yet Live Gathering Strength, Protecting the Hall, Defending the Keep, Fearing the Worst, Under Foot At His Command, Lost in the Woods Beyond Dark Mountains.
Cheers.

Saruman's Power, we must have it! The council of Elrond goaded to war nasty, foul hobbitses!
-
Here is my attempt to make a flowing sentence without punctuation (7 cards):
An Able Guide Borne Far Away Called The Last Alliance of Elves and Men The Highest Quality Army Long Trained Above the Battlement.
Cheers,

Here is my attempt, Dunland edition:
War cry of Dunland ; "too long have these peasants stood" : bound by rage, band of wild men constantly threatening, burn every village, ravage the defeated...no retreat, death to the strawheads!
-
Their Marching Companies Gathering to the Summons, Goblin Reinforcements Swarming Like Beetles Fight For the Villagers Wreathed in Shadow, Beneath the Mountains, Tracking the Prize Under the Living Earth.
Nine card pileup on the freeway.

On the March Tracking the Prize Lost to the Goblins -- Gandalf's Hat -- Beren and Luthien Boomed and Trumpeted Songs of the Blessed Realm (Pandemonium!) Pressing On, Gathering Strength Freely Across Our Land On Your Doorstep; Practically Everyone Was Invited: Southron Veterans, Steadfast Champion Rosie Cotton, Barmaid, Seasoned Leader Master Proudfoot, Distant Relative of Bilbo, Grima, Servant of Another Master (Bold and Cunning Barliman Butterbur, Red-Faced Landlord), Bold Men and Grim, Agents of Orthanc.
This one is twenty-three and uses punctuation like a boss. I could have kept the list going but I felt like it is kind of against the spirit of the competition.

Sharpen your swords, Battlefield Veteran -- I am here with strength to fight! New enemy stooping to the kill; not easily avoided, not easily destroyed.
Change of plans: there's another way. End of the game later than you think, fool of a Took! Behold the White Rider!
Gandalf, Mithrandir
Sent back out of the high airs
The Flame of Anor
What is this new devilry? Wizardry indeed, war and valor more to my liking!
When you can't win the game, change the rules ;)
-
Here's my shot at a more established means (20 cards):
They came from Mordor, from deep in shadow, bred for battle many miles beyond dark mountains: The nine servants of Sauron, stronger and more terrible, journey into danger for death and glory, constantly threatening the great gates surrounded by wraiths (no living man defending the keep) not yet vanquished -- some who resisted The Ring's oppression stand against darkness, spurred to battle protecting the hall.
-
Not bad at all.
Unheard Of! No Mere Ranger On the Edge of Madness Hides Poisonous Words Out of All Knowledge Inside a Song.
Cheers.

This is still a great thread.

Ditto.

Elessar Telcontar, heir to the white city, what is this new devilry? Impatient hobbit, a fool, fool of a took, just a nuisance, treacherous little toad.
8 cards, oh well. I'll figure it out some day.
