what is a good method for gaining initiative during the regroup phase w/o ending your turn?  The only cards i can think of are ancient blade, radagast's staff, and lembas

Well... Cards with the muster keyword are a good way to lose and gain initiative during the regroup phase.

Thanks guys.  I'll most likely go with careful study, this will be for a kings block deck, but the other card suggestions were awesome.  I completely forgot about those.

Now why do you want to do it in the regroup phase? Earlier in the turn gets you access to stuff like Pippin, Wearer of Black and Silver, Gloin, Son of Groin, Rohirrim Guard, Gandalf, Powerful Guide, Merry, Rohirrim Squire, Daddy Twofoot, Next-Door Neighbor / No Visitors.

That's my deck. The strategy is to use Twofoot to gain initiative after you've lost it with, say, Unheeded, then you use No Visitors, lose initiative, Gandalf, gain and lose, Gloin, gain and lose, bounce Pippin toss a card with Rohirrim Guard, bounce Merry toss a card with Rohirrim Guard, bwahah! you've gained and lost initiative 6 times!

But for regroup, there's that Gondor card that discards two cards to remove a threat.

I never realized how much fun you can have with initiative.
