I have a problem. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to use GCCG to build decks. Usually I use SdA, and import them into GCCG, but...
SdA's been crashing, basically, every time I open it, it gives me an error message instead of opening. ](*,) Anyone else had this problem. Any ideas?

Use zorbecs :D

One of these days I've got to write a tutorial on Zorbec's (setting up card images, etc). But it works fine without images as it emulates the layout of each card. Hands-down best deckbuilder (and no errors on import into GCCG)
-
how do i put real card images to zorbec's deckbuilder?
i already put the path of the images to the 'image library option' but still i cannot load real card images..

A couple of questions:
Are all of the images in one folder? (ie no subfolders)
What is the naming convention of the images?
Also, note that there is an "image" button on the card preview screen that you have to click (if you haven't already). Right above the "Show errata" checkbox.

i imported all the images that i have from GCCG. Actually i already have the images, i just edited cardimages.csv and renamed it to cardimages.txt. it's working..

That'll work... :)
Maybe you could attach it here to be of use to others?

okay, i will upload and post the link later..

You can just attach it to a forum post.
-
Here it is...
1- In the options, put the the directory where all the subfolder images of GCCG is located (example: c:\LOTR-GCCG\graphics\Lotr\)
2- Download the attached file and replace the "CardImages.txt" (dont forget to backup the original file)
That's it you should have the picture preview of most of the images of Zorbec's

Works great! I already had it set up in a different way, but this seems to be the easiest solution for GCCG players. A few random cards didn't seem to work, but this could be fixed by editing the TXT file and putting in the right filename. I'm going to go ahead and sticky this one. :gp:

Here's the updated "CardImages.txt". Fixed the filenaming for "Ages" set.

I have Zorbec's decklist builder and have put a deck together but can't import it. I do not have SdA and the link does not seem to work. I cannot work out how to build a deck using GCCG.
So - i am trying to work out what you have said here but can't follow the steps. Can someone explain using stepwise instructions. I think some steps are missing above because I can't find the files you have mentioned.
Or can someone tell me how to make my deck on GCCG so i can get going in the new FOTR league - many thanks :)

Save your deck in the GCCG\decks\Lotr folder. Then, in GCCG you can right-click the lobby area and choose "import deck." It will show up in the list there.
-
thankyou! :gp:

I´ve built myself a fotr-deck from a starter and some boosters. I tried to start a one player game to check out the interface when it says that the deck is not a legal format..? Have I done something wrong? There seems to be an equal amount of Free Peoples/Shadow cards in it.
-
You can rightclick on the decklist and choose an option to check the deck. That will say is something isnt right.
-
The deckbuilder is terrible. I bet it works bad for all other card games as well. They would need to add some filter functions.
-
There are filters
And you can customise filters as well.
-
The link to Zorbac's deckbuilder doesn't work. Is there another link?

i found it. You will need to replace the cardImages.txt as described earlier in this thread.

Hi all. If anyone had the official deckbuilder for the game (LOTROTCG), I wrote a tool that reads the .ldc files it creates, to extract the cardnumbers used, so that might be another way for people to make decks.
I just tested it now, by loading up the TTT Theoden starter deck and then saving it again (the original decks had slightly different formatting, but resaving puts them in the right format) and then I uploaded it to my site. Here is the result:
http://www.gondorian.com/lotrtcg/ldc.php?ldc=gccgtest
I believe the official deckbuilder was completely self-contained, so I could zip up my install directory and share with others, if you want.

+1 for easier deckbuilding tool...
