Title: Grey Ship / Reckless We Rode
Post by: daisukeman on October 19, 2009, 01:00:33 PM
Hi everyone!
I've got a question, I'd appreciate if someone explains it like "for dummies" with examples and all ...  :-[
Here goes...
How exactly does A Grey Ship or Reckless We Rode work?
I'm asking because It seems I can play as many archery special habilities as I wish and I just would have to ensure that if I play Grey Ship or Reckless We Rode, I play them as the last archery thing I'm going to do.
So I don't see why that final text on these cards was put.
---

'm wishing it could go like this:
(assuming it's a movie block format)
1) Archery phase starts
2) I use an archery hability (use your imagination--- weather to increment archery points or to wound minions), since at this moment nothing stops me from doing that
3) Shadow player passes (some minions are alive)
4) I play reckless we rode reducing the "normal " archery points coming from archers

The text doesn't say the abilities played before
 are not to be used

You are correct. I think the text prevents you from, say, using it to heal Greenleaf and Aragorn w/ Aragorn's Bow, only to exert them for the targeted archery. Think about it: You'd lose nothing by making the archery -2, but you are able to target your arrows instead of letting your opponent assign the wound.

That's my take on the rational, anyway. I do use A Grey Ship in a deck for auxiliary healing.

Ok, thanks a lot, and for your quick response!
yes I can see it can become an overpower to greenleaf and aragorn archer...
