The main purpose of the whole deck is to jam your opponent's hand,
Legolas, DH and Vilya (get it using the Binding Ring) are jamming your hand with shadow conditions. Taurnil can be interesting against possession-based shadows. Use Make Haste to return Pippin to your hand and remove burden or wound next turn. The FP is kinda weak vs strong minions.
Ruinous Hail is really annoying when your opponent starts his fellowship phase at site 1 by playing a possession. It forces your opponent to play only 1 possession per turn. Grima, WT (with the help of you bring great evil) is there to return the possessions... dwarves are in trouble. Speak no More to me is also an event that clog your opponent's hand with FP conditions. The minions are there to try to slow my opponent down.

hmm for the freeps maybe add Denethor, Lord Of Minas Tirith to make them draw or let you cycle much
-
That is not a good idea, for it needs a lot, 2 men for example and thus another type of deck. What annoying decks you tend to build mr Clocky ;)
-
You can also clog his hand with shadow that returns companions..
There is called away, or minions like u.lemenya from set 6 (which is not so good). Called away can work well with Morgai, since you're using Besiegers

Letting them draw several extra cards can give them the opportunity to unclog a bit at reconcile.

Very good point. I knew about Called Away before and I may very well try to fit 2 of these in... That would require me to add cards that add burdens and cards to add wounds (to remove vitality).
The problem is that if I want to keep a good number of Sauron Minions, it's hard to have a decent set-up that clogs your opponent's hand, adds burdens and wound at the same time with at least 20 minions.
Also, Called Away may actually help the free people player as I'm probably going to return exhausted companions in his hand, giving him the opportunity to play them back fully healed.
I'll try to do something with Called Away anyway... playtest it... and I'll see.
-
Called Away is great, but I think it is good in a deck of it's own. I made a deck once that was annoying as annoying can be. Return a key companion to his owners hand, and discard that players hand with White Arrows of Lorien, so the companions are gone. Which is terrible to witness.
-
WHite arrows... the only solution is play nothing and RUN!
-
Ok, the biggest issue I have right now with my fellowship is my companions being too weak and ending up being overwhelmed easily, any suggestions on how I could improve that? Adding a big companion seems to be the best solution, however it would force me to remove some cards.
-
Gil-galad...
-
you could add the defender+ companions, Sam and Aragorn, that if you need them, you could use them.
-
c-work: Play the discarding Hobbits and add four copies of Knocked In the Head instead of extra Hobbit Swords. It is gold! Sauron? No problem!
Also, Isildur, Bearer of Heirlooms for the ring-bearer. You can always exert him and the two Hobbits, then discard the Hobbits in a crunch.
-wtk
The reason why I use this Frodo is because I want to have decent corruption protection. If I use Isildur and I want to grab Vilya, corruption may become a problem quickly.
Gil-Galad could be a good idea. RotN as well.
-
Along with Gil-Galad, you could also consider using Naith Warband.
-
How about tossing in one Galdor, Councilor From the West ?
For this to work (more than once), you would have to add to your deck Galadriel, Lady of the Golden Wood. She could heal Gil-galad or Legolas too.
-
Galadriel, Lady of the Golden Wood is banned
-
The other one is, but both are banned in Expanded! Galadriel must be the most banned character!
-
Standard and Expanded
-
What about Elrond? You could play the healing Elrond for 1 extra twilight and then get the choice to heal an ally OR any companion (i.e. himself).
-
I think Gil-Galad would be the best spare companion for this deck, and RotN as well. I'm not a big fan of Naith Warband.... not in this deck. Elrond is already used as a ally for Vilya.
Galdor is so so, I'd rather have something else to fill his card slot.
-
Ok I just updated this deck a bit. Just check the first post. I've recently played 4 games with it, I won 3 and I lost 1.
One thing that changed in the FP is Aragorn, RotN. He has been very helpful. Some events may have been added as well.
The shadow still uses the same cards to clog the opponent's hand but the minion changed. I decided to pick the Sauron minions which had the best "strength or good ability/cost" ratio. It has been much more successful at stopping the opponent than the minions I used.
All game I won were FP wins vs shadows which used many conditions. The game I lost was vs Corsairs and I got killed at site 9 by an incredible corsair swarm. I realized Taurnil isn't very useful vs Corsairs as they can easily get rid of Naith Longbow.
