How did this work? Is there a way we could get it going again? Was it fun? It looks really cool...

There was a tournament. First nine spots got to create the site text for the Race. Then there was a tournament where everyone had to use that site path.
On record, I got third place going into the tournament and made site 4 something badass. But I don't remember what it was...that was years ago.

Sounds sick :D

I want to say it was:
Maneuver: Discard a minion to wound an unbound companion.
Something like that. Because I played [Moria] and destroyed everyone. I remember site nine was play a minion whose twilight cost was 8 or more. His twilight cost is -8. Sauron and Witch-King potential...who could survive that?!
Edit: It might have been once per turn though, now that I think about it.

you actually got to choose what the text of the site read?
-
There was a preceding tournament. The first place got to choose the a site's gametext (it had to be approved by the eight others). Then second place got second choice. I always liked site four as a gamechanger.

This would have been my site 9 entry:
All players shuffle all cards (except from their dead pile) into their deck. The fellowship player may play a starting fellowship from their deck. They may then have another fellowship phase. The shadow player may either draw 16 cards or choose 6 cards from their deck as their hand.
That would shake things up!

That wouldn't fit on an ordinary site card. Anyways, that is ridiculously overpowered!

How so?
Maybe draw 8 cards or choose 4 from their deck for the shadow.
-
Because what happens if you kill the starting fellowship (besides the Ring-Bearer)? Plus, you are missing the point that it has to fit on a card and has to be approved by the other RTMD winners.

Well yeah, that's why it says "A" starting fellowship.
