Title: Slacked thirst

Say I have Slaked thirsts stacked on preparations and I want to exert a minion twice. Do I have to pay the [1] for the event or not?

no, because you are discarding the event as opposed to playing it,

yes you have to pay the 1.  You are still playing the event.

Yeah, this is something they specifically addressed shortly after the card came out (and no, I don't know where the documentation is, so I can't give you a source).  You do have to pay the one twilight to use Slaked Thirsts from a stacked card.

That's correct, paying 1 Twilight is still needed, but with cards like Loyalty Unshaken, this 1 Twilight is no problem for you.... ;) ;) ;)
