Title: 2 GCCG questions
Post by: sharkey on December 29, 2009, 01:47:27 PM
Okay, number 1:

Every time I try to log on, I get a message: Incorrect Password! Server Closed! Abnormal Exit!

Number 2:

Where can I get a good deck editor?

I want to make this a super duper sticky. This happens to a bunch of people... generally the case if you try using GCCG on a new computer without copying your settings or your settings folder (C:\.gccg) gets deleted.

So how do I fix it?

Well, does the situation match those described above?

If you don't have the original C:\.gccg folder, then you lost your password. Ergo, you have to use a different username. Delete C:\.gccg and use a completely different name.

If you DO have the original C:\.gccg, copy it into place.

Okay, I do not see C:\.gccg folder in the over-arching GCCG folder. How do I create a different user name?

It will be in C: drive, not in the GCCG folder

Not there either.

Create a folder named home in your GCCG directory.

I'm in, but I can't build a deck...

Buidling a deck on GCCG is very difficult, I suggest using Zorbec's Decklist Builder or SdA to build decks.

Zorbecs is on Geocities, which closed, and I cannot find SdA. Where can I get it?

How? What do I need to do?

Or, to rephrase:

"What must I do?"

Zorbec's Decklist Builder is on the french Forum "Pelennor  Fields". "linkage" (http://frealaf.free.fr/forum/viewforum.php?f=27).

If you prefer the french one - it it one step away from the english one.

Why did you think it was on Geocities? SdA was, but not Zorbec's.

Official English link for Zorbec's:

Find someone in the GCCG lobby to teach you how to use GCCG. ;)

Okay, now that I have built and imported a deck, it is not showing about 20 cards, including sites. What's wrong?

I think you need to give more details. Why not attach the file to a forum post? Attachment options are available in the full reply screen.

Erm... and what program were you using to make that text file?

Zorbecs.

Zorbec's saves as .zdl. Are you saving the list, or "exporting" it?

Exporting... why?
Title: Re: 2 GCCG questions

What I'm saying is that you should NOT be exporting it as txt. Zorbec's saves as .zdl, not .txt, so I'm not sure how you are getting that file.

Well, to get it to GCCG, I have to export it, right? And there is no .zdl to export it in.

No, you just save it in the GCCG\decks\Lotr folder. No need to export -- GCCG handles it just fine. Use the GCCG "Import Deck" option in the lobby.
