Title: What's your favorite culture combo?
Post by: sharkey on January 07, 2010, 05:38:45 AM
Okay... What's your favorite culture combo/ deck to play with? I know I love Dwarven/Sauron, and it would be my only choice for a tournament, but I do love playing Smeagol/Gollum. It's such a... tenuous way of playing. Both cultures, true to Smeagol's nature, just manage to hang on. It always makes for a dramatic and intense game :)

I once challenged my friends to run a deck that had the title: all cultures must help! You had to make a deck that had at least Rohan, Gondor, Gandalf, Elven, Dwarven and Hobbits and each culture had to have the same ammount of cards. Optional you could add Smeagol, but the same rules applied. So with all 7 freeps cultures and you wanted not to grow too big you where looking at a 35 sized deck, so each culture could bring 5 cards.
Oh and on the flip side, you couldn't have cards that took advantage of mulitculture decks like Grima CC. I love these challenges, and I love multiculti. The more cultures involved, the happier I will be!

Forest elves (Staunch defender, Blade of Lindon...) / Forest Nazgûls (Lost in the woods, Dark Approach)

I agree. I never try to make a deck with just one culture, love to try out combinations of at least 2, sometimes 3, and sometimes even more.

Nice challenge idea, maybe you could start a challenge like that in the deckbuilding forum.

Dwarves/Moria in FOTR block
Dwarves discard/Sauron discard in any format
Elvents with Cirdan/Gollum wounding using They stole it
