Title: Merry Meets Gamling
Post by: putridbreath on January 08, 2010, 12:49:06 PM
So I was looking through my cards and noticed that Merry, Swordthain could work well in conjunction with Gamling, Warrior of Rohan, particularly with possessions such as Rohirrim Shield.

Does anybody have a deck idea on how to best enhance the relationship between these two cards?

I can't come up with a starting fellowship because Gamling has to spot a Rohan Man and I only have one copy each of Gamling and Merry.

Thanks for any suggestions!

You can start with Merry and Eowyn. Then you play Gamling using Simbelmine.

Which Eowyn would you use?
I have Eowyn, Lady of Rohan and Eowyn, Restless Maiden
The first one helps a lot with negating wounds but the second one would work better with Merry's game text.

one problem, you don't get gamlings special if u use merry to play the possession.

You are right, that kinda ruins your idea.
Eowyn, Derhelm is my favorite one unless you have 6 or more companions, then you could use Lady of Rohan.

Is it because they are two separate skirmish actions?

If Gamling said, "When you play a possession on him during the skirmish phase..." instead of "Skirmish: Play a possession..." would that have worked?
