Here's my Easterling minion side that's designed to burden the ring bearer (which in and of itself is bad for them) and also use those burdens for further evil.
It's a real-life deck so I'm a bit limited by what I actually own, but I welcome any and all suggestions for improvement!
Easterling lietenant 4C228 x4
Easterling guard 4C226 x4
Easterling skirmisher 4R229
Easterling axeman 4C234 x3
Easterling pillager 10C41 x4
Raider bow 7C155 x4
Raider halberd 7C156 x2
Southron bow (can be played on any raider man) 4R247
Stampeded 10R51 x3
Haradwaith 8C61 x2
Vision from afar 4R259

I'm going to have to buy Easterling Captain and Easterling Army. I agree, discovered and Easterling polearm look pretty good. I might have to buy those too.
Easterling Footman doesn't look that great. Small Hope accomplishes the same goal. For the same twilight and strength as Easterling Footman, Easterling Guard is so much better!!! It either gives another burden, or it forces my partner to assign him to the ring bearer!
Why don't you use Easterling Axeman? He's awesome!

This tends to hurt a lot if you are using an alternate ring bearer and they elect to bid on turn priority. Furthermore, using Prancing Pony in addition to bidding for turn order can add an easy 3 burdens almost immediately. Easterling Guard can be the devil....

Agreed, because you need the Captain to stay around. With only 2 burdens he cannot take wounds, ever! So all these wound decks, direct archery, or gondor bow...all is useless. That makes him awesome.
