I'm not sure if the combination works perfectly together and I've never played Tentacles before, so this is just an idea.
Ring-bearer
Isildur, Bearer of Heirlooms
The One Ring, Answer to All Riddles
Free Peoples (36)
2x Oathbreaker
3x Aragorn, Driven By Need
1x Cursed of Erech
2x King of the Dead, Oathbreaker
1x Shadow Host
3x Sleepless Dead
1x Andúril, Flame of the West
1x Scroll of Isildur
1x Seeing Stone of Orthanc
1x The Saga of Elendil
3x Stronger and More Terrible
3x Swept Away
4x Let Folly Be Our Cloak
2x Duty of Two
4x End of the Game
4x We Must Go Warily
Shadow (36)
4x Shelob, Last Child of Ungoliant
1x The Balrog, Durin’s Bane
4x Watcher in the Water, Keeper of Westgate
4x Foul Tentacle
4x Huge Tentacle
4x Goblin Runner
2x Goblin Scrabbler
2x Goblin Warrior
2x Larder
4x Evil-Smelling Fens
4x Foul Things
1x Such a Little Thing
The main goal for the Free Peoples is to choke with Let Folly Be Our Cloak and We Must Go Warily and to get my wraiths exhausted quickly (I'm not fan of playing Dead Man of Dunharrow because I need Swept Away out first). With not giving to many twilight my wraiths should be able to beat the opponent's minions (or just stay alive and still run). I put in some healing as well, to be able to use the choke cards more than once, or in case I play against archery decks.
As far as the Shadow is concerned, it is a way to get some Shadow cards out of my deck so I will get my wraiths out in time. And hopefully It's able to swarm with tentacles or stop the opponent from moving with a Balrog or Shelob + Larder.I threw in some Scrabblers, Warriors and Such a Little thing to have something against certain cultures.

Do you know that we must go warily has an erratum? Why not having Gollum in your shadow, I think it could be very helpful. I would also add Sam, SoH.
-
Durin's Bane is helpful for...sites 3 and 4? No reason to run him. Sauron, the Lord of the Rings might be fun at one copy.

cl0ckw0rk, is there any deck you have in which you do NOT run Sam, SoH? :P
-
There shouldn't be!
Really, though, unless you have another Sam as a key to your deck (which gives you access to the cool [Shire] burden removal stuff) then Son of Hamfast is near-necessary. At least at one copy.

I knew the twilight cost is only +1, but I think it's still helpful enough.

Agree Completely. I mean, is there any freeps Deck where you don't get burdens? I think is always useful, though.

You also have to exert your gondor companion twice. With 4 Let folly be our cloak you won't have enough unused vitality point to use 4 we must go warily.
-
Maybe add some Duty of Two.

I am aware of that as well. But i Don't necessarily have to exert all companions to reduce costs with Let Folly Be Our Cloak and that's why there is also some healing with Duty of Two.

He would play two at the same time if it was allowed ;) haha
But I think it depends on what kind of deck you play:
Bilbo doesn't need him, Smeagol doesn't need him
Frodo can use different kind of sam's
Gandalf (in Standard) doesn't need him
Galadriel doesn't need him
Faramir (in standard) doesn't need him
Leaves following rb: Boromir, Gimli and Isuldur, but also then it depends... There other ways to remove burdens, okay not as easy as with sam, soh, but there are alternatives.
But back to topic: I realy like the deck! But what I don't understand is why you don't add 2x Gollum dad with 4 captured by the ring instead of Shelob and larder. It makes your deck faster. It makes you able to hurt the ringbearer and if there are burdens you can add twillight to allow you more tentacles. I even would add 4 x so polite and 2 fat one wants it so you'll be able to add more threats and also create more twillight. Otherwise it will be difficult to get the minions effective. but that are my 2 cents.

(0) Hobbit of Tales [Shire]
Condition • Support Area
Each time you exert a Hobbit, you may place a Hobbit companion from hand on the table.
I think that gets around uniqueness rule because you are "placing," not playing.

That's a funny mistake :D But where would you place it on table... Did Illuvatar created a new bubble somewhere in the void ;)

That is how VS. System gets past uniqueness for applicable characters. There specify the difference between "playing" and "placing."

I was never a fan of VS. System but with such a stupid rule.. imagine a Boromir only fellowship, with one Boromir, BoC
and 3 others as your fellowship!

Different game, but Delta quadrant spatial scission 1st edition Star Trek allowed two copies of the same unique character in play at the same time. It was a lot of fun. From memory there was a clone card that did the same thing.

I wouldn't mind a spatial scission fellowship deck - sounds fun, or better still spatial scission The Balrog for two Balrogs at site 5. Some of us were talking about different ways of playing the game today, maybe this is the future of LOTR ;)

but is it legal?
-
I hope it won't be.

The rule was applicable in flavorful sense.
Example: Mysterio, a Spider-Man villain who was known for using illusions in his crimes could be non-unique. Also, Kang, an alien super-race could be non-unique. Both of those examples are quite flavorful, based on the characters they are based on.
