Title: Nine Walkers + They Stole It
Post by: FredjeBono on January 21, 2010, 09:51:47 AM
And another deck from my side:

Frodo, Son of Drogo
The One Ring, Answer to All Riddles

Site Path
1 Isengard Ruined
2 Rohirrim Camp
3 Hall of the Kings
4 Pelennor Plain
5 Steward's Tomb
6 Minas Tirith First Circle
7 Osgiliath Crossing
8 Northern Ithilien
9 Slag Mounds

Free Peoples (36)
1x Sam, Resolute Halfling (starting)
1x Gandalf, Leader of Men (starting)
1x Gimli, Unbidden Guest
1x Arwen, Elven Rider
1x Legolas, Greenleaf
1x Aragorn, Heir of Elendil
1x Boromir, Son of Denethor
1x Éowyn, Lady of Ithilien

2x Gandalf’s Staff
1x Phial of Galadriel, Star-Glass

2x Hobbit Sword

1x A Light in His Mind
1x A Talent For Not Being Seen
1x The Tale of the Great Ring
4x A Promise
3x Shadowplay
1x Brooding on Tomorrow
4x The Nine Walkers

1x Power According to His Stature
4x Servant of the Secret Fire
3x Wielder of the Flame

Shadow (36)
1x Gollum, Stinker
2x Úlairë Cantëa, Thrall of the One
3x Úlairë Enquëa, Thrall of the One
3x Úlairë Nelya, Thrall of the One
3x Úlairë Otsëa, Thrall of the One

2x Ring of Asperity
1x Ithil Stone

1x Fat One Wants It
1x Promise Keeping
1x Final Strike
1x Hidden Even From Her
4x They Stole It
1x The Ring Draws Them
3x Bent on Discovery

4x Captured by the Ring
3x So Polite
2x You’re a Liar and a Thief

The Goal is simple. You need The Nine Servants out quickly and then play companions of races you cannot spot and let them fight the minions and die. And at the end both Frodo and Sam should be able to catch some minions as well with A Promise. Not sure if it would work, but it sounded fun and promising to me.

The Shadow is there to help cycling and possibly kill too with They Stole It. With Bent on Discovery and Ithil Stone I draw extra cards to use for Gollum.

Who is in your starting fellowship? You should add some condition removal and Roll of Thunder as well.

If I remember correctly there was such kind of fellowship on a toc in 2004 what went 2nd. Don't know if it works with the shadow you run, because I remember (not sure though) that the guy played moria (can't remember seeing him ever played different then moria)

Yea, but the chance I'll ever play Moria is as big as the chance that they will make Lord of the Rings 4; The Second Ring. I hate Moria...

What is wrong with the world? In the last two days, I have heard people ripping on both [Moria] and [Dunland] now. Is there any Shadow that is acceptable?

(Hint: The answer is not "Corsairs").

I never really understood what people think of Dunland. All these minions have so few vitality... I didn't see a good Dunland Deck before, maybe somebody could post one...

You're kidding right? There are 3 ways to play it: Discard, sitecontrol, possesionremoval. Sitecontrol is way out their best abillity and if you can combine it with 4x southron archer I'm sure you'll give mass archery. Besides that dunalnd is quite fast to play with and those 1 vitality are not that easy to kill if they have hides on table. Don't underistemate Dunland. If i got time tomorrow I'll post a dunland shadow.

I think you can also play a Dunland surprise men deck, using that whole "if a dunland guy wins play a guy from your hand" thing.

Mine looks kinda like this:

Freca, Hungry Savage x4
Dunlending Elder x4
Dunlending Headman x4
Hill Chief x3
Hillman Horde x2
Hillman Tribe x4
Burn Every Village x4
Constantly Threatening x2
Hides x4
Ready to Fall x2
Over the Isen x2

Needs some tweaking but the idea is to keep bringing back the elders.
