Can Final Strike be used to cancel events?
-
Just special abilities.
-
I agree; events are different from special abilities, even though they're used similarly.
-
Keep in mind that special abilities can be on characters (i.e., Legolas Greenleaf), possessions/artifacts (i.e., Aragorn's Bow), or conditions (i.e., Gondor Bowmen).
So it is still incredibly versatile!

Yeah, basically, anything that follows a boldfaced phase keyword (e.g. "Maneuver:") that's not on an event is a special ability.
Note that text along the lines of "Each time ... you may ..." is not a special ability.
Bottom line: If it starts with "Maneuver:" or "Archery:" and it's not on an event, Final Strike can prevent it.
