Does this guys ability allow me to play a Giant, or does it have to be a Giant Wizard?

From his oracle text:

Kinship - At the beginning of your upkeep, you may look at the top card of your library. If it shares a creature type with Wandering Graybeard, you may reveal it. If you do, you gain 4 life.

First of all, you cannot play anything with his ability, his ability merely grants you a life boost. However, and this is true for all kinship triggers, it always refers to sharing a creature type with it, so if the creature has 11 creature types, any one that matches one of those will do.

The dude that lets you use Kinship to play guys, though, is awesome.

It's an ent, right? Yeah, he's good in a dedicated Doran deck, but even so, not THAT great. UW Merfolk is just much more quicker an lethal.
