Title: When the end comes, Ferny is here!
Post by: Witchkingx5 on February 16, 2010, 03:43:47 AM
Well, I had this idea of building a Deck with the two following cards: Bill Ferny, SSF and The end comes.
Generally, you need 5 [Moria] minions, Bill Ferny, SSF and the end comes to win:
Because of the End comes, the freeps players must assign the ring bearer to skirmish and then, you also assign Ferny to the same Skirmish to overwhelm the Ring-Bearer.

So, that's the list:

Shadow (33):

4x Bill Ferny, SSF
4x Goblin Runner
2x Goblin Sneak
2x Guard Commander
4x Goblin Scrabbler
3x the end comes
4x Goblin Scavengers
4x Goblin Scimitar
2x They are coming
1x Shotgun Enquea
3x Isengard Warrior

The idea is pretty cool, but there are several problems with it:

First: Greenleaf and aragorn's bow. Ouch, ouch, ouch...
Second: Underground: Ferny gets discarded when at an Underground Site, so you can use this strategy either on Site 1-3 (or 4 if you play Moria Lake) and 6-9, so no Balrog in this Deck ( or maybe a Durin's Bane as random Balrog)

Any advice, ideas, comments?

I'd say take out shotgun enquea and put in goblin armory, if your going for directed RB kill, then crowd control won't matter as much, if you do keep enquea, add helpless to prevent sam from saving the day

Three Shotgun Enquea seems like overkill. One, tops, is plenty. But like l3333 says, you are going for a Ring-Bearer kill.

They Are Coming, Goblin Swarms, Goblin Armory, the regular stuff is necessary, then you don't even need The End Comes.

So you propose to make a "Goblin-Swarms-featuring-Bill-Ferny-that-doesn't-work-at-undergrounds-cus'-of-Ferny" or something like that?

My idea was to include the not so powerful rare the end comes in this deck, not to build a regular swarm. (I'm still missing the 3 armories, so until then I'll annoy you with thousands of Moria Decks without Goblin Armory but with other stupid cards like Goblin Domain!)

But no matter what, I had another idea: Spies of Saruman.

What do you think of including that card in this deck?

And btw, if I didn't mention that before, I love Nazzies!

if you run this deck in TS, you don't need to worry as much about underground sites

I would vote against Isengard Warrior because of the spotting requirement--It may not be realistic to get 2 of these guys out (when you only have three in entire deck) along with 5 Moria goblins, Bill Ferny and The End Comes for a successful combo.

If you want to overwelm the RB with Ferny, why not using the classic Ferny Frost deck? I'll post one later.

Cool, I didn't know that Deck before!

I think I'll netdeck it ...
