Title: Sauron Wounding
Post by: legolas3333 on February 17, 2010, 08:14:26 AM
32 Cards

Desert Lord x2
Ulaire Enquea, Lieutenant of Morgul x2
Orc Assassin x2
Orc Cutthroat x4
Orc Hunters x3
Orc Patrol x2
Orc Scouting Band x3
Orc Soldier x4

Hate x2

Barren Land x2
Under The Watching Eye x4
Orc Bowmen x2

Strategy: Mulligan if you don't get at least one Under The Watching Eye, that will exert people to death, literally, most of your guys are exert to wound, with the exception of Orc Ambusher and Orc Patrol. Desert Lord is a splash minion as is Shotgun Enquea, Hate and Orc Bowmen are interchangeable, Hate if your meta is heavy on condition discard, if not, switch them out for Orc Bowmen, which in my opinion is more effective. Barren Land kills ring-bound rangers, ring bound hobbits and solo smeagol.

BTW, does anyone else agree with me that sauron wounding is one of the most cost effective decks ever, and yet it remains competitive, I mean you need cards from basically two sets, FotR and BoHD, and both of them can be acquired easily as they were either overprinted (FotR) or weak in general (BoHD) case in point, my deck above, it uses cards from 4 sets and only 6 rares, that number could be trimmed down to 2 sets and 4 rares in I got rid of Barren Land and Desert Lord.

I'm a big fan of Orc Assassin in the case that you see bouncing Hobbits (Pippin, Wearer of Black and Silver can be a particular pain in the #$&*@!).

Of course, I won't sit and flaunt my [Sauron] wounding deck, but a little [Gollum] splash never hurt anyone!

I love one copy of Terrible As the Dawn. It was there for the random Galadriel, Lady Redeemed sighting, but is amazing against Galadriel, Bearer of Wisdom.

Anyways, it is one card. Play it during the maneuver phase for no effect if you have to or discard it with They Stole It (or Catapult).

I don't know, it seems like the equivalent of putting such a little thing in a moria swarm deck...

Galadriel is common enough in my meta to keep it in the deck. Like I said, it is one card, and it does fit with the wounding theme.

If Galadriel has taken a few exertions from Under the Watching Eye (relatively likely), it can be an end-game if the opponent doesn't have the Elves to support her. Or, you can see characters like Arwen, Legolas, or sometimes even Elrond or Cirdan discarded.

Dead Marshes is awesome in Sauron wounding decks, but especially when playing with 4 Orc Bowman and 4 Under the Watching Eye like I always do. However, I can understand why you don't put 4 Orc Bowman in yours.

2x hate? for real?

ditch 1 barren land and 1 orc cutthroat for a couple of hates... taking out a leading companion is just too good to pass up

In Fellowship block it is actually quite a good idea to include it. DIE HORN DIE! ;)
