Post by: legolas3333 on March 03, 2010, 10:54:19 AM
Ok, is it better to use all your weapons of isengard at once or as soon as you get 2 token on them?

I haven't played Isengard Archery but I think it would depend on what fellowship you were against and where they were on the site path and how many wounds they were already carrying. It would be nice to save them up but condition removal would be a worry unless you have Siege Engine in play.

Perhaps use them in two attack waves if possible with at least 2 archers in play - 6 archery is a lot of wounds..

Sorry I can't be more help.

All at once is nice but you will rarely be able to do it. I usually use them as they are ready, ideally after a sanctuary. Your opponent will focus on discarding them so keeping them until all 4 are loaded is pretty risky. Sometimes you will have 2 in hands and enough twilight to use both at once, which is nice, but 4 is rare. Anyway you should be able to shoot a lot of arrows each turn.

I have an Isengard Archery deck that I play quite often.  I normally make my opponent go first and try to save my weapons of Isengard until site 7 Hornburg Causeway, that is if I have a Siege Engine or two out, like Max mentioned.   I will use them earlier if I have a chance to take out a couple of my opponent's companions though. It's one of my favorite decks. :) I think the most archery that I have thrown out at site 7 is 18 or 19 against a large fellowship and with a couple of archers out.

It can never hurt to play siege engine before you play Weapons of Isengard. I would say that you wait till after site 6. When playing movie block try to built up some threats as well, before unleashing the terror.

I agree with GE. You should only start using your Weapons of Isengard at site 7. Devilry of Orthanc should also be used after site 6. This means Siege Engine is a key card that you must play early.
