Is the Hunters card set still for sale, or no?

Mythdracon - Yeah the set is still available.

KingofMen - My last Hunters RF Set sold on Ebay for $550 inc postage. Was a purchase sale not an auction.

That is insane... you can't be expecting that much?

It's not that unreasonable.

Let's say the hunters RFs are worth $25.00 each..  15RF1 let's say is worth $75.00.

That comes to $500.00 and being a complete set has to make the value go up a bit aswell.

Holy crap, that would be awesome to get that much.  I was thinking 2-3 hundred maybe.

Don't get me wrong, anyone who will pay $500.00+ for 18 cards has way too much money for their own good but I think it is possible that the set would sell. Let's face it, people are nuts.

I disagree that a complete set makes the value higher.  I know if I was selling I would much rather sell one item than 18 items and would certainly sell a set for cheaper.  I would look for the same deal as a buyer.

Think about this - 18 items means up to 18 different buyers, up to 18 different trips to the post office, longer to sell all, the chance a card or two doesn't sell, more packing material and all that.  Plus, 18 different auctions or PayPal sales means you are 18 times more likely to run into a scammer or thief!  I was burned once so that is always in the back of my mind everytime I sell...

You're not making any sense.

Either way i never said $550 was my asking price, thats jusy what i sold the last lot for.

But you are correct in assuming that even at $500 is a pretty good deal guarenteed for the complete set. Having the set does increase its value. As a buyer you dont have to look for anything. Rather then making 18 seperate purchases some for $20 maybe some for $40. Im providing excellent quality for all 18 right away.

As someone that spent $600 US for the Rare Aragorn. Id much prefer to have bought the set myself then the 3 months it took me to trade and buy it.

I for one agree with amfsook. It is a real pain in the !ยง$ to collect a TH RF set. Many cards hardly ever crop up on ebay. So, either you are prepared to wait a LONG time to scrounge together a set with each card roughly costing $10-15 or you satisfy your collecting habit and buy the set in one go.

That is why I think it is reasonable to ask for a bonus, because the buyer does not have to go through the endless hussle to collect the set. The buyer MIGHT pay a slightly higher average per card, but then you would be paying an above-average price for a card you still need to collect the set...so it may not be that much cheaper to buy individually.

Besides, it could very well be that prices go up even higher and $300-400 would end up being a reasonable price in the end.

It all comes down to availability. At the moment, you see more RoS and T&D foils than TH foils (at least half the RFs virtually NEVER are listed). Especially the T&D RFs are pretty easy to get, as they do not represent the cream of the crop from that set. I do not even want to think about how much a MW Gil-galad might have been worth by now

BTW, if anyone was willing to sell a ring of doom foil, I'd really consider it. *hint* *hint*
