Hey everyone.
I'm trying to get a Fellowship Block play group started again in my area. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a copy of the block restricted list? I want to start running some tournaments but want to get a handle on what cards are restricted and/or X'd for that block.
I also plan on a developing a website and ranking system for our regional play area. We still have a lot of players that would love to play with the old cards, so I'm thinking a clearly organized competitive & league setup will get them back in.

Forces of Mordor is the only one.

Forces of Mordor is restricted
There are no banned cards
Out of interest - what is your area?
-
Yeah, the Forces of Mordor restriction never made sense in Fship Block, but whatever. That is the extent of the official Decipher R list.
Now my friends and I who play Fship block locally use the following restricted (1 per deck):
No Stranger to the Shadows
Elrond, Lord of Rivendell
Relics of Moria
Flaming Brand
Saruman, Keeper of Isengard
Horn of Boromir
-
Forces of Mordor absolutely does make sense in Fellowship Block's R-list. I think [Sauron] swarm is far more terrifying than [Moria] in Fellowship Block.

Ket, you want to share you killer Red Eye Fship swarm?
The way I see it, without drawing/stacking there's no way to get more than 8 minions out. And without wound prevention, well...

Maybe one day.

I am curious as well

Here's mine:
Minions:
Ulaire Nertea, MoDG 3x
Gate Trooper x4
Orc Ambusher x4
Orc Guard x4
Orc Pursuer x2
Orc Assassin x3
Orc Cutthroat x2
Orc Scout x3
Morgul Skulker
Conditions:
Spies of Mordor 4x
The Dark Lord's Summons
Seeking its Master
Forces of Mordor
With 4x Forces of Mordor in here, I could basically play every minion in my deck.

But sharkey, that isn't FotR block.

You can see mine here. To be honest, I think that Sauron Swarm is nowhere as good as a Moria Swarm Deck using Isengard Warrior. Spies of Mordor is quite fun though.

8 minions is a lot in FOTR given most players run smaller fellowships in FOTR. However, Frodo survives the swarm though by using direct wounding - of which their are many options. If Forces of Mordor was unrestricted, players would adapt by using more Frodo protection - like swapping sting for frying pan. So yes - wqound prevention is an issue.
I used to play alot of Mordor Trackers with Forces of Mordor and direct wounding. It got a lot of minions at site 9 using the site that gets three minions from discard pile. Add more Forces of Mordor and it would be very hard to stop. With only one Forces of Mordor it was unreliable.
After playing a fair bit of FOTR block I found that Uruk-Hai are very strong and appear harder to counter than all of the other minions.

Out of curiosity I immediately built and tested a Sauron Fship block swarm deck. My deck turned out looking a lot like cw0rk's, but it still failed to do the job in a few test games. It wasn't consistent enough, and even though I managed to get between 9 - 12 minions out at site nine with careful planning, lack of wound prevention doomed it. I found that TL wasn't really the problem except vs choke, but /consistent/ drawing and wound prevention did me in almost every time. Plus the fact that enough of these minions are 5s (as opposed to Moria's 7s with scimis) means it takes a lot to gang up on Frodo.
Of course Spies is an awesome card, and really does provide the most fun, but between Secret Sentinels and Sleeps and the opp just not double-moving when I wanted him to, it really would take a strong set-up to get this to be formidable. I do want to try it again with a Filter Fship, or with bottom-stacking (maybe even sneaks), but Moria--with or without Isengard--still scares me more, if only because it can swarm big at 5 or 6 with some regularity.

BTW, here was my 35-card build, which I coupled with some decent drawing on the Freeps:
Conditions (8)
4x Spies of Mordor
2x Seeking It's Master
They Are Coming
Our List of Allies Grows Thin
Events (1)
Forces of Mordor
Minions (26)
4x Orc Taskmaster
4x Orc Slayer
4x Orc Ambusher
3x Orc Assassin
2x Orc Guard
2x Orc Butcher
4x Goblin Runner
2x Nertea
1x Enquea

Correct, however, no important cards are X-ed. Sorry about that.

I would also like to hear what area this is... probably not around NC but I would love to play a live game again sometime.
