Our sponsor has said that the following sites are available. Which one would you guys prefer?
lotrpc.org
lorttcg.org
lotrplayers.org
lotrtcgplayers.org
lordoftheringspc.org
If you guys got any suggestions, just post them here! :)

is lotrtcgpc.org not available? if not I vote for lotrpc.org
-
lordoftheringspc.org would be perfect - the star wars pc changed their domain name recently from swccgpc.com to starwarsccg.org - who among those just coming back to the game would think to go to swccgpc.com? starwarsccg.org makes much more sense - they always knew the game as star wars ccg, not swccg - maybe they abbreviated it that way, but they'd say it out the long way.
anyway, having "lord of the rings" in the domain name makes it easy to remember if you see it on a flyer or something.

I agree to Hawk. Absolutely.
-
I think keeping it simple is best, so I would have to agree with Hawkeye.

Message bellow from our Web Host Neal Razi - Owner of Decktech.net and web designer.
Ok, i have looked through the files. I don't really know what to say. It's a nice looking website, but a very far reaching one with nothing implemented. Decklists and all sorts of neat stuff, but none of it programmed in.
I'll get it up as soon as I can get the domain and a free 2 hours or so

I don't mind any name as long it is clear that it's about lotr tcg and a pc.
@Hawkeyespf shouldn't it be Lordoftheringstcgpc.org in your reasening?
-
whatever it is just needs to be easily remembered and type-able....I really wouldn't want to type out thelordoftheringstradingcardg amedatabase.com, but lotrtcgdb.com is just fine. As far as hawkeye's point, I think google is still going to be used when finding it, so the name doesn't need to be expanded or contracted beyond what is needed for comfort and remembrance.
my personal vote would be lotrtcgpc.com

How so, he is working with Kenddrick on it?
-
Well, all....
I typed in the url for the proposed website and saw a banner at the top that said "coming soon".
Here's too hoping it's true! ;)

Guys we really need to put a hold on this until we get an okay from Decipher. I've been talking with Scott on the PC site and Decipher has been heavily involved here recently.
We can't go on with this unless we have an okay with them and until that is done, we can't have the website up. That would violate their property that they own and something we could get in trouble for.
I don't know if anyone has talked to Warren yet about the LOTR PC but before this goes any further we need to. I'd be willing to unless someone else here is already in discussion with him about it.

I don't mind if you talk to him. I actually want somebody to talk to them. I thought TheJord had contact, but I'm not sure.
Must say that I'm a bit suprised. Can't see what they can do against another website about a product they don't sell anymore. Allthough they might have problems with using cardpictures (Carddatabase) and playing with an unsanctioned tool: gccg. That might be a reason that they have been heavily involved. So as long as we don't do those things then it should not be a problem. But as mentioned: I'd like their approval so we can do all the cool stuff.

It really depends on the content of the website. If it just has articles, decklists and comes across as a fans website i wouldn't foresee any problem (I could be wrong - but i don't think that this site or Cobra cards or other sites have Decipher approval). At the same time, if the website offers nothing new that TLHH already offers what is the point of creating it.
The issue is if the website states or does things that need approval from Decipher. Things that might be an issue include modifying cards, issuing v-cards, modifying rules, issuing an up-to-date CRD, etc. None of those things should be in place or even mentioned on the new website when it is launched. If they are, the site is travelling of dangerous grounds.
Decipher has contacted TheJord and said they would consider a LOTR PC, but not before April this year. That time has arrived, but nothing is in place as far as organisation and overall leadership. Until that happens, there is probably no point contacting Decipher.
Just my 2 cents.
-
If you want the PC to go forward, you must wait for Decipher.
-
There is a difference between a fan site and a site calling themselves the Lord of the Rings PC and using that IP, something that Decipher really owns the game rights to still. They have control over things like that.
What we have on this site right now is perfectly legal because we aren't claiming any control over anything, have images for people to see and have a message board.
When we go bigger and say we are a PC when it was never approved by Decipher, we are stepping on their feet and we are in trouble.

Exactlty!!

We should set this asap

Ok then - so C1G.com has mentioned the need to set up a charter to present to Decipher. The first step is to put this together. This can be achieved in two ways.
* Someone that is passionate about a PC can put it together and go about it alone. Once they have Deciphers blessing, they move forward and start recruiting the right people. They are in essence nominating themselves as leader/chairman of the PC or whatever.
* Those of us that are interested in a PC work together and put the charter together via the message boards, chat and PMs before we present it to Decipher.
Before we do anything ..... Do we really think it is possible to setup a community based PC without actual leadership? In other words, just those of us that are interested in a PC discussing and gradually moving towards a more concrete plan. It is really hard to do this via the message boards, we have been trying for some time. If this is possible, we can continue on the same path we currently follow - but be prepared for more criticism.
If the answer is no, there is really no point continuing until someone with the right skills is willing to pick up this project, put the time in, and put it all into action.

I would favour this, but if you take the histry in mind it would be better to candidate and vote for the person who's responsable to communication to Decipher.
I still think we should contact Startrek PC and copy their organization and fill in the positions/responsabilities.
My English aint good enough for communications with Decipher. So if TheJord or C1G.com is interested to contact then my vote would go to one of them.
Still I also have a few questions for Decipher if they grant us to be the legal lotr-pc:
1 Are we allowed to make virtual sets
2 If we are allowed under which conditions.
3 If we are allowed will it be legal to produce those cards ourselves as prize-support for real life tournaments (via internet or via regular tournaments), probably under some conditions, i.e.: that we don't sell them and that they are only meant for our community, etc.
Other remark: I think we should offer Decipher free advertising on the lotr-pc website.
Also another question arise in my mind:
4 Does Decipher has plans with the Hobbit.
5 If so would it be comaptible to lotr
6 If so would it be an idea to have the lotr-pc involved in some ways.
Also:
7 What would pc be allowed about altering the lotr crd.
8 Are we allowed to create new formats (for example: If we are allowed to make virtual sets then it would be handy to create a new format apart from current formats).
9 Decipher had planned another 2 sets, but due to losing the license they never came out. Did Decipher already made some rough scetches ideas for cards for those sets. and if so would they be willing to share those ideas, etc.
