The card Dark Places let's me swap an opponent's site with an underground of the same number. In expanded play does this mean that the same number is the 5th of 6th or whatever site? Pre Shadows all sites had numbers.
So can I still play it the way I used to?

Look into clarifications in Notes section in the DataBase. It only works in FOTR block :)
-
Unless the card states "any" site 5 etc. like anduril fotw then its block specific.
-
it doesn't say any, but now you mentions FotW, it names a number. Site 5. You play any site 5. But here it says swap it for the same number. Why should it only be in fellowship block. Pathfinder isn't limited to fellowship block. Allies I can imagine, they work on a certain site, but this....anyone else's thoughts would be welcome!

FOTW says "any site 5" dark places just says site 5. Its block specific. FOTW isnt.
Thats cos pathfinder doesnt reference a site number. Its all about site numbers. Thats why grimbold isnt as good as he would be if site numbers from blocks worked in all blocks.

that kinda sucks :D
-
Haha yeah sorry, or grimbold would be awesome for getting plains out for javelins etc...
-
The difference between "site 5" and "any site 5" is seriously splitting hairs. But yeah, that's the way it works (or doesn't work).
-
A more important question is this: Why would you use Dark Places for the site text? The only real useful part of the card is the unique minion boost.
-
I guess if you wanted to play 2R73 Watcher In The Water it would be useful, but I would just play 5U22 Evil-Smelling Fens to make everything a marsh.
-
Actually, Dark Places would be pretty amazing if it worked on Shadows sites.

Dark Places and Nelya in any deck would be super-broken

indeed...that was kinda the thought. Working on the 'Austrian Format' and wanted to have the possibility to swap sites. Dark Places would be great in more than 1 way....helas...
