Title: Pipeweed with Sauron Grind
Post by: Witchkingx5 on April 19, 2010, 08:44:30 AM

Frodo, OBH
The one Ring, Isildur's Bane

Freeps (35):

1x Gandalf, tGP (starting)
1x Canonfodder Aragorn
2x Gimli, DotMR
1x Sam, Eater of Burdens

3x Bounder
1x Glamdring
1x Gandalf's Staff
1x Gimli's Battle Axe
1x Aragorn's Bow
1x Ranger's Sword
1x Sting

4x Longbottom Leaf
4x Old Toby

1x Bilbo's Pipe
1x Frodo's Pipe
1x The Gaffer's Pipe
1x Aragorn's Pipe
1x Gandalf's Pipe
1x Gimli's Pipe

4x Servant of the Secret Fire
3x Hobbit Stealth

Shadow (35):

4x Orc War Band
4x Orc Scouting Band
2x Morgul Warden
4x Orc Soldier
3x Orc Assassin
4x Orc Ambusher

4x Orc Bowmen
2x Spies of Mordor
4x Hate
3x Under the Watching Eye
1x Forces of Mordor

Well, after some play-testing, I actually found it it works pretty well - the Freeps cycles good, it removes tons of wounds and Burdens. As for Shadow, I think this should be the right amount of cards. Not too many Under the Watching Eye cus' you need an exertion for it, and as I often Swarm, Morgul Warden is pretty useful for that.

You will probably want to have a 4th Under the Watching Eye. I don't think that you need Spies of Mordor. You should also consider having Ulaire Enquea, LoM x2.

Hm, have you playtested this deck? The Fellowship side looks really interesting, but I'm not sure how it would stand against uber-strength pumped Nazgul, for example.

I did, and it worked pretty well, as you don''t get overwhelmed, just smoke the wounds away as they were nothing, and corrution also isn't a problem at all. ,)

you have only 1 aragorn's bow and no PATHS, consider Greenleaf or paths for some extra swarm protection

I guess my main worry is that if you're up against Shadow conditions + huge minions (i.e. Nazgul) you'd have trouble surviving. Even if your deck is great at healing and removing burdens. And yes, you'd need to protect against Moria swarms too. And the Balrog. :S

So, what do you think of adding Greenleaf, who can be healed with Frodo's Pipe and sacrificed when you draw your 6th comp and maybe some Sleep Caradhras. Against the Balrog, I'ved got 3 Hobbit Stealth, which are also useful against early Nazzies when I didn't set up yet, I consider adding another one of those. What cards should I remove?

you can probably dump Sam, SoH seeing as you have gandy's pipe, also Gandalf's staff can go i think

If you choose to add Legolas, I'd suggest you to start him with Gimli and use Gandalf, FttS instead.

Well, I already thought of this, but I really need Gandi cus' of SotSF and Gandi's Drawing abilty, this Deck cycles really well and I can get Gimli pretty early, but with FttS, I'd have to put in 3 or more copies of him...
