Title: Inspiration
Post by: legolas3333 on April 24, 2010, 04:53:59 AM
So right now i have a couple different ideas for using the card Inspiration, the first one is a Saved From The Fire/Gandy Men variant and the second is a wierder kind of deck

30 Cards

Gandalf, Bearer Of Obligation
The One Ring, Ring Of Rings

Merry, Swordthain (Starting)
Pippin, Wearer Of Black And Silver (Starting)
Ghan-Buri-Ghan, Chieftain of the Woses (Starting)
Erland, Dale Counselor
Grimbeorn, Beorning Cheiftain
Radagast, The Brown

Beorning Axe x4

Inspiration x4
Return To Us x4
Saved From The Fire x4

Pallando, Far-Travelling One

Last Stand x3
Home And Hearth x4

So burn Ghan-Buri-Ghan and grab Erland, Radagast, and Grimbeorn. Return Merry And Pippin to hand for -6 strength on minions Return To Us, Beorning Axe and Erland can all get Inspiration back, don't discard cards with gandalf when you move, instead, use home and hearth to remove lots of burdens each turn. The second version is a bit more off the wall

30 Cards

Faramir, Bearer Of Quality
The One Ring, Ring Of Doom

Gandalf, Leader Of Men
Merry, Swordthain
Pippin, Wearer Of Black And Silver
Haldir, Sentry Of The Golden Wood x4
Woodland Onad x3

Faramir's Sword x2
Glamdring, Orc Beater x2

Refuge x3

Return To Us x3
Inspiration x4
The Sap Is In The Bough x4

Home And Hearth x2

This one you do the same idea, return merry and pippin to hand for big inspiration bonuses, also, The Sap Is In The Bough is used when you have extra copies of Woodland Onad and Haldir. Haldir Is there to get refuge out, then you can kill him and use the extra copies to heal with refuge, the same with Woodland Onad. A minor Loop is assigning a low-vitality minion to faramir, then make him roaming with his ability and killing him with pippin.

So, which one looks more promising?

I didn't see librarian listed on your first decklist.  On that one as well, is there a reason you're not using an extra copy or two of your key companions?  Since inspiration is key component of your set up here, extra companions will only help you out more.  Are you going with a shadow side designed to eat your hand if necessary?  In fact, you might throw in an extra hand eater or two since you know that every shadow turn you'll probably be sitting with 2 hobbits in hand so you'll need to make sure everything else freep is out of there.

The 2nd one actually looks stronger to me than the first.
