First of all, this deck should be in expanded format, so I'll move it there for ya. Herugrim, Hrethel, etc aren't standard format.
Okay...let's look at your choice of starting comps.
Eowyn, Restless Warrior. Obviously looking for a combo with Freely Across our Lands Here. Quite good. However, I would consider some other form of token reinforcement and go with Eowyn, Lady of Ithilien. She's that much better.
Theoden. Okay....you're running 2. I'm not sure why you're doing that, since you can only have one copy of a given comp. For a good solid starting companion, I'd check out Gamling, Defender of the Hornburg. He's nice at grabbing your possessions fast.
For extra companions, Hrethel is good, as would be Eomer, Third Marshal of Riddermark. You see, Rohan alone cannot pack a big enough punch with archery by itself, but with some fighting abilities also, it can do decently.
I have to get off soon, but a couple more tips, run 4 Riddermark Jevelins, Sword Racks, Eowyn's Sword, Dernhelm's Blade and Eomer's Spear, Trusty Weapon.
-
I kknow you have eomer, Riddermark Tactician. So.... start him and Gamling.
P.S Now do you regret trading me Merry, Swordthain.

Lady of Ithilien would be good, but also consider Eowyn, Restless Maiden, who combos lethally with multiple copies of Dernhelm's Blade to potentially lay on multiple direct wounds. Play one on her, wound a minion, discard it with her text, then play another from hand to wound AGAIN. I love that combo.
Theoden. Okay....you're running 2. I'm not sure why you're doing that, since you can only have one copy of a given comp. For a good solid starting companion, I'd check out Gamling, Defender of the Hornburg. He's nice at grabbing your possessions fast.
Defender of the Hornburg IS a good idea, but I like starting with Theoden. If you DON'T and instead rely on drawing him from your deck, I'd recommend The Renowned, since you should have Eowyn and Eomer around to make Theoden big.
For extra companions, Hrethel is good, as would be Eomer, Third Marshal of Riddermark. You see, Rohan alone cannot pack a big enough punch with archery by itself, but with some fighting abilities also, it can do decently.
Third Marshal is ALWAYS good, especially with wounding decks, but I like the version you're using. Makes your deck fun and unique. In hindsight, I think I'd start HIM with Eowyn to get the full effects of his text...plus it gives you an 8-strength companion to start with. Not too shabby, that.
I have to get off soon, but a couple more tips, run 4 Riddermark Jevelins, Sword Racks, Eowyn's Sword, Dernhelm's Blade and Eomer's Spear, Trusty Weapon.
I agree with all of that. Here's what I'd recommend:
Frodo, Resolute Hobbit w/ The Great Ring OR The Ring of Doom OR the best Ring you can manage
Eowyn, Restless Warrior (starting)
Eomer, Skilled Tactician (starting)
Theoden, The Renowned
Hrethel, Rider of Rohan
Rohirrim Recruit
Merchant of Westfold
Riders of the Mark
Merry, Swordthain
Eomer's Spear, Trusty Weapon
Eowyn's Sword, Dernhelm's Blade
Herugrim
Rohirrim Helm
Heavy Chain x2
Rohirrim Mount x2
Swift Steed x2
Riddermark Javelin x4
Rider's Spear x2
Work for the Sword
Hamstrung
King's Board
Simbelmyne
Let Us Be Swift
Blood Has Been Spilled
Border Patrol
Freely Across Our Land
Doom Drove Them
Sword Rack x3
Swordthain and your Sword Racks enable you to pull back plenty of possessions, eliminating the need for Mustering for Battle and one of your Freely Across Our Land. I added in Doom Drove Them to give you another token condition. I also added Trusty Weapon and Dernhelm's Blade, since they work very well for direct wounding and nice pumps when you need them. Took out Rohirrim Bow and added in more Riddermark Javelin. Moved Eomer to the starting fellowship and changed out your Theodens for The Renowned. Also changed Frodo to a more useful version (since the threats aren't as big a deal) and a better Ring.
The only real downside I see is a lack of healing. If you can fit them in, a couple copies of Rohirrim Shield would do you some good, or perhaps With Strength to Fight. Thundering Host would double as a nice pump; you could swap it in in place of Hamstrung and perhaps even Work for the Sword or one of your many possessions.
Just some thoughts. It's your deck, so do what YOU want with it. If you feel any of us are trying to change it too drastically, then go with YOUR gut, not ours. :) I tried to stay faithful to your original deck ideas with my suggestions, but again, if you don't like something I recommended, then by all means, don't do it!
Hope this is helpful, though. Good luck!

Ya, as Dain pointed out, you'd really have to start that Eomer to get the full benefit.
Eowyn, Lady of Ithilien really would be better than Restless Warrior, reason being is that you don't need a combo, you can start working with her immediately...and it slims down your deck as well. Plus, Restless Warrior only works until you run out of swords.
That Theoden really isn't the greatest Theoden unless you can run massive healing. And if you're running archery, you shouldn't really have any minions left, what with mounts, arrows and big dudes, if there's something left in regroup phase, you'll take it out anyways next time without Theoden.
Hey, I'd consider running Border Patrol. Its very cool. :D If you run Swordthain, which I would also recommend, you may consider using Daddy Twofoot/Unheeded as well.
Matter of fact...
(34)
Frodo, Resolute Hobbit w/ Best Ring
Eowyn, Lady of Ithilien
Gamling, Defender of the Hornburg
Eomer, Third Marshall of Riddermark
Hrethel
Theoden, Rekindled King
Merry, Swordthain x 2
Riders of the Mark
Rohirrim Guard
Simbelmyne x 2 (Or Last Days of My House)
Community Living
Unheeded x 2
Daddy Twofoot
Border Patrol
Sword Rack x 4
Riddermark Javelin x 4
Eowyn's Sword, Dernhelm's Blade
Eomer's Spear, Trusted Weapon
Coif
Rider's Mount x 4
Rohirrim Mount
Brego
Firefoot
See what that does for ya. But I have a tendency to get REALLY off track when coming up with decks and looking at this, this may be completely different from the deck you had in mind. :P If you wanna keep the deck you have, I'd listen to Dain...but still try to get Eowyn and her sword and Eomer's Spear.
-
As a quick note, Expanded format uses sites only from set 11 (Shadows) and above.
-
ohh. Ok. Thanks! :)
-
I'll make the modifications to this deck soon, I just have to figure out how you trade on this website.
oh and by the way I think I will use Eomer, Skilled Tactician, because I'm not to concerned for my companions getting wounds that's what pumps are for ;)
-
One problem with Theoden, the renowned is that I need to spot 3 valiant companions for Let us be swift to work, and that comes in real handy especially with [Wraith] conditions and all that.
-
Hey guys should i throw Riddermark Tactician in with the lot.
-
Yeah, you should.
-
I'm really srry about the long wait (not that you were exactly waiting for me to finish this deck), but it's really hard to trade when you've taken apart all you're decks, except a gondor ranger deck, just to make them better. And right now I'm having a lot of trouble with these trades ~sniff~ :'( but in the meantime check out the goofy channel or fav.s in the council of the cobra.
-
Ok, this is kinda what it looks like now. But I can't quite remember what else I put in there ??? I'll update everything when I get home.
-
Try Galadriel, BoW with Bow or a Legolas, to increase the fellowship archery total.
-
:-k hmmm... That might actually work! you are totally rad bro. :uh-huh:
-
I don't think so...
Galadriel's small, weak, small vitality and low resistance. It screams FERNY! or BURDENS! at the opponent. Sure you ca crunch beatdown decks or swarms, but a good number of decks run corruption too.
If you want the RB to do stuff, I'd go with PATHS. You can even get a Daddy Twofoot Racket going there, possibly some Golden Perch Ale to keep stuff in check or some other burden removal.\
The question with starting companions is "Can they survive?" Starting companions should be big enough to take on minions from the start. Merry + Aldred are weak, throw out an extra twilight and say "crunch me." Merry, Swordthain is a utility companion, not a fighting companion and Aldred really isn't worth anything except in a Horn deck. I would start Eowyn, run tons of plains sites, run Riddermark Tacticians (to ensure that you either keep your plains or they take arrows), and then run Border Patrol (this card is seriously good). With Eowyn started, you can slap a Rohirrim Mount on her via Gamling and start dropping minions two for one!
The problem here is that you're not dedicated enough archery. Either go full-blown archery or go fighting. i mean, you can have some fighting to cover your bases, but I personally run Gimli RB in my deck with Gimli's Battle Axe that throw arrows when you have threats, Aragorn, Driven by Need w/ Aragorn's Bow, Faramir, Son of Denethor with Faramir's Bow, Rohan Archery stuff and HIDAN to cover my bases.
So. Cards that are nonessential to the deck...
Work for the Sword
Hamstrung (x3)
King's Board
Morning Came
Blood has Been Spilled
There's 7 cards out. In: Shire package? (Daddy Twofoot, PATHS, Golden Perch Ale). Or more Rohan stuff (Border Patrol, Riddermark Tactician, Sword Racks...I especially recommend this one). Gondor package? (Help in Doubt and Need, Aragorn, Driven by Need, Aragorn's Bow, Ranger's Longbow, Faramir, etc). Way too expensive though, probably. :P That would cost you like...$60 to do that well.
-
Ok, but it's the thought that counts right? I might get x4 of that other javelin just so I don't have to use Gamling's text all the time.
As for the pumps... right now (until I can get some better cards), their kinda necessary. :-[
-
I am just now starting to comprehend what ur saying Nb.
I now have realized the power of tacticians text.
So I think I'll Throw in x4 Rohirrim Javelin, x2 Riddermark Tactitian, x2 Border patrol, I'll put another Freely across our land's just so that I can pull it a ton easier. That way I won't have to start merry and aldred, and I can put eowyn and gamling to start.
As for the extra cards. Throwing all that in might give me enough lee-way to take all the unecessaries out. ;)
Thanks NB.
-
Ok, I threw in another border patrol.
Mainly because when I was playing Berry, I totally killed him with that, if he threw down four minions i would kill all but one and that one would be exhausted so I would simply kill him w/ Eowyn.
-
great suggestions but that kindof defeats the point of a "Rohan" archery deck.
Still, i could make that deck as well...
