Looks like that article screwed up.  It's actually 2012 for the first, and 2013  for the second.

Which would be horrible. There is nothing artistic about 3D - it is nearly impossible for a director to get across his true intentions for a film in that format.  The colors become skewed, and the picture isn't crisp.

That's jut my take on it though.. :)  I'd just rather see it in the standard format, like LotR was.  It made for a "cinematic" experience, where you could appreciate the story and the art of the film-maker rather than the orcs popping out at you! ;)

Either way, I can't wait!!

Well, as I saw Alice in 3d, and I liked the 3d very much. The movie was so-là-là, but the 3d was really impressive.
