Title: GCCG for Beginners
Post by: Legolis on May 02, 2010, 09:21:01 AM
Any helpful info or commands for the beginners would be great to insert here. So if you have helped others before and know of things that the Newbs are going to run into or ask.... might be easier to put it here then just send them a link instead of having to repeat it over and over.

Here are a few of the commands....

I think I like Kralik's "right click on everything" works awesome!!!

How about a few avatars
akhorahil, alien, anarin, anduril, archer, archer2, arwen, axe, badger, badger2, balin, balrog, bane, banshee barahir, barbarian, baliman, beorn, beorn2, bermudatriangle, bifur, bilbo, bombur, buthra, cartman, celeborn, centaur, chinese_dragon, chicken, demon, demon_skull, denethor, desert_dwarf, devil, dwalin, dwar, dwar2,

There are a few to start with.

You don't typically NEED to use any of the /commands... just learn to RIGHT-CLICK EVERYWHERE and you'll find everything you need to get started. :mrgreen:

I'd recommend the /commands only for "advanced" users (making your own keyboard shortcuts, collection displays, etc). Not for beginners.

Oh, and... use Zorbec's for deck building. ;)

Ingame keyboard shortcuts.

p = Pass.
pp = I pass all maneuver, archery and assignment actions.

These are very important for beginners.

Okay I have been checking out a few games and think I understand the physics of it better. One thing I don't totally understand is the "Twilight Pool" and how this works out. I guess that the red tokens are for attacks correct? When rolling the dice what does this determine?

Sorry about probably such simple or crazy sounding questions I would just like to understand as much as I can before jumping in!

Also thanks for everyones responses input and shortcuts.  ;)

Gold for you all!!!!  :gp: :gp: :gp: :gp: :gp:

p = Pass.
pp = I pass all maneuver, archery and assignment actions.
f = Fierce

Ctrl+A = Wound, Threat, Or Token. (depending on where your cursor is)
Ctrl+D = Heal, Remove Threat or Remove Token (depending on where your cursor is)

Ctrl+1 = During Fellowship Phase
Ctrl+2 = During Shadow Phase
Ctrl+3 = During Maneuver Phase
Ctrl+4 = During Archery Phase
Ctrl+5 = During Assignment Phase
Ctrl+6 = During Skirmish Phase
Ctrl+7 = During Regroup Phase

That's all I can think of right now.
