Title: Corsairs
Post by: LoveMeAndDespair on May 08, 2010, 03:03:10 PM
If I buy one box of Siege of Gondor expansion booster packs (like http://cgi.ebay.com/LOTR-TCG-Siege-Gondor-Sealed-Booster-Box-/270487351851?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3efa4d722b)...

OR one box of Siege of Gondor starter decks (like http://cgi.ebay.com/Lotr-TCG-Siege-Gondor-Themed-Starter-Box-/390031121474?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5acfaa9c42)...

What are my chances of being lucky and getting all of the cards I need for an ownage RL Corsair minion deck?
What cards would you say are ESSENTIAL to being able to play such a deck?

I'd say for what it costs to buy SoG boosters/starters, you would be better off bidding on complete foil sets (wildthings games on ebay).. The foil sets usually go for about $30-$60.

I don't think you will get enough Corsair cards from either box to for an ownage deck.

There are a few ways to play corsairs, 4x Castamir of Umbar probably will be used in 99% of corsair decks as will 4x Corsair Marauder.

Also popular:
Black Sails of Umbar
Corsair War Galley
Ships of Great Draught
Wind That Sped Ships
Corsair Plunderer

Fierce In Despair to combo with black sails, raider halbarad to exert castimar of umbar, corsair boatswain to get possessions quickly, corsair lookout to discard bounder and other allies
