Title: Ring of Doom Foil up for bidding....
Post by: Legolis on May 14, 2010, 06:24:39 AM
Just noticed that this has been listed, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320532432616&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_500wt_1117

I wish I had the cash to bid on it myself but, I am broke.... but I figured if anyone deserves it they should be member here first!!!!!!

Good luck,

Brian

I will be bidding on this one, and will go pretty high too in case anyone else is also thinking of bidding.. I only need this and the tengwar foil 11R1T for a complete set of every foil ring made.

6 days left, and I'm winning right now at $96.00. But... since I already have one, I won't go higher than that.

I am the current the leading bidder at $125.00 max bid (it's on $117.50 atm). I will not be bidding any higher as I have just bought a 15RF1 from somewhere else (many thanks to Hawkeye). I encourage someone to outbid me so I don't have to buy this one aswell.. :P

If not, no matter. I will just have to keep two of them.

I figure instead of risking loosing out on both, I would guarantee that I get one of them..
btw I am NOT rich, just have some spare cash atm and have wanted this card for a long time (I've had it twice and traded/sold it both times).

Come on Lurtzy.. Where are you now outbidding me?.. :hey:

You know MuadDib you can honestly revoke your offers entirely and just mention to the seller that you have met a financial situation where you can no longer bid on the auction. And it will revert to the next persons highest bid.

Actually I think you are "tied" lol. If you look at who's bidding the top two people both have $50. I think what happened is that when MaudDib withdrew it went back to the highest bidder but also the one who bid first, I think that is what has happened.

Since the price has dropped some and I can't sell my truck fast enough I might have to go to a few different counties and donate blood at each one, yeahhhhh thats the ticket!!!!!

Well this is strange. I'm the only other bidder, and I'm not winning either.

Well how about one of you add $1.00 to your bid to stop the confusion..

The way it reads on my ebay is that Lurtzy is winning because he bid $50.00 before AMFSOOK did.

lol it is either that or the seller is just gonna have to cut it in half and mail it out that way!  :o Still very weird that this has happened.

Actually the guy I thought is Lurtzy isn't....

AMFSOOK is winning according to my ebay, his bid was placed two minutes before Lurtzy's.

Either way, I'm sure it will go for more than $50.00 before all is said and done.

Lol, it doesnt matter HAHAHA.

The auction changes are a laugh :P

Highest bidder of $125 - retracts bid

2nd Highest bidder $115 - entered incorrect amount.

I like the fact you can withdraw a bid off $115 for an incorrect amount when the item was already well over $15... Makes you wonder what the incorrect amount is :P Maybe he wanted to bid $11 - $15 or $5 ????

Makes you wonder if he was just driving up the price, never wanting to to pay that much in the first place...

Poor guy who is selling it, $117.50 -> $50.00. He would be spewing.

Very interesting.  I just realized that this card was included in a large-lot purchase that I made last week.  If it's really worth $100.00, then I could recoup my costs in full.  I'll be watching.

it certainly is that worth, I mean, the non-foil version if worth 50$ at least, and as nearly every player (except ket, maybe) wants that card...

The tie has been broken, it is up to $51 now!!!  If I can get rid of a few more pints of blood today and tomorrow I might be able to make a bid  :-?!

I got mine today, too. From another source, though.

I don't want to make matters worse for those who are looking for a copy of that card, but the foiled version is very nice indeed. Reminds me of the foiled ttt version of the ruling ring.

Now, I have complete RF and MW sets from The Hunters. *phew* Was agonizing to collect those foils. If I ever was to sell them, I would sell them as sets with a premium on top for the whole effort of putting them together in the first place. ...and do not get me started on the RoS foils. They certainly are a hoot to collect, if you are into that whole self-punishing thing ;-)

BTW, does anybody know a good method of photographing foils so that the holo effect translates into the picture?

I have seen people use a scanner and get the effect, if using camera I would try to have a slight angle. As far as the flash goes not sure if it would hurt it or make it better though! Congrats on getting all the foils for the hunters and good luck on RoS!
