Yes, that's right, Bib, the TCG nerd you all know and love (or hate) proposed to his girlfriend on Thursday and she said yes. We're getting married next summer, and I couldn't be happier.
-
Smooth man congrats, youll love it trust me.
Im impressed you got some girl to marry you with a huge lumpy head and a fat thing curled round your neck though. Kudos! You must have other talents ;)
-
Wonderful news, Bib. Congratulations!
I'll warn you...there's going to be stress in the months ahead--especially for her, more than likely--as you all plan and coordinate for the big day. But if it starts to seem too much, just remember and remind HER: at the end of it all, you'll be married, no matter what happens in between. The marriage is what's important, and most of the rest will be a distant memory very shortly afterwards. The good will endure, but any stress and disappointments and details that don't quite go according to plan will be lost and forgotten sooner rather than later. Just enjoy it, and keep your eyes fixed on the prize.
Best of luck to you both. Pop in every now and then and let us know how it's going, eh? Oh, and we will be demanding pictures when it's all over. ;)
-
Indeed. Congrats, Bib!
-
That's awesome, Bib. I can't wait until I get the hitch.
-
And yet more "Congrats!"
-
snazzy ;)
-
Congrats man. 'Tis true that getting married can be stressful at times, but in the end it all pays off. ;)
-
All the best for you and your fiance, Bib! Oh, and listen to Dain, he speaketh the truth(eth, lol).
-
And do some good thinking on invitations Bib, cause all cards do what they say ;)

Tell me about it. When I went through a list of all the people I wanted to invite, I had over 60 people, not to mention all the people she wants to invite. Because it's not just the people that I'm inviting directly; I also have to consider their spouses and children. Of course, some of them live across the country and might not be able to make it, but it's staggering to think that we could have 100-150 people show up.
But at least we have a whole year to plan it all.
-
Yeah, expect about 75-80% of your invitee's to actually end up attending. My wife and I actually had 60%, but that's because her whole family is on the other side of the continent. Congrats dude, just take it easy and have fun with the prep. :)

Update!
I haven't been on here in ages, but Erica and I decided to get married a little earlier than we originally planned. Okay, it was a lot earlier. We got married on November 20th, and it was the most perfect wedding I could have ever asked for. And before any of you ask, she's not pregnant!
We decided to get married earlier so that she could get onto my insurance plan. My company has open enrollment every November, and the insurance where she works isn't very good, so she never enrolled in it. I had to visit the ER back in October, and that visit prompted her to realize that if she has to make an uninsured ER visit, it's going to cost us a ton. So that's why we decided to get married in November instead of next July like we originally planned.
So I've been married for almost 3 weeks now, and I couldn't be happier.
-
Congratulations! Married life is good, isn't it? :uh-huh:
Did you get to have a honeymoon?
-
oh yay, congratulation.
-
We're having our honeymoon in January, since that's when we both get some vacation time. Plus, her birthday is in January, so it works out even better.

Got me, I WAS planning on asking that, although just to mess with you, after all, a Rules Guru would know better! ;)
Congratulations, man, must be the most awesome moment of your life so far, I just hope I go through it as well someday!
