Title: Great Day, Great Hour for Counting Foes
Post by: hrcho on June 22, 2010, 12:52:54 PM
When I use Great Day, Great Hour on Gimli, Counter of Foes how much is X?

Let's say Gimli is naked (not bearing any cards) and there is no copy of Lord of Moria or any other damage inducing card. When I exert unwounded Gimli, CoF as a cost for Great Day, Great Hour is X=1 or X=2?

he is damage +1 when you spot him so it is 1 exert

I would say X=1 as well.

I disagree. In order to play a card, you pay its cost, then use its effects. Its cost is exert, so you pay the cost and the card comes into play. Then gimli is dmg+2, so X=2

At the time of the exert, gimli is only damage +1.

I'm with Lurtzy.  The way Great Day reads, I'm inclined to say X=1

"exert a Dwarf who is damage +X"

Gimli is damage +1 when you exert him

X=1
