it's not so difficult, just ask a "better" player who will help you with getting things clear.

When have you switched? Give you enough time to learn how everything works with GCCG and you'll see that it is just a matter of time before you prefer it.
Unless you don't want to play vs anyone in the GCCG lobby but one or two friends you know in RL, GCCG is 10 times better because of this lobby feature were you can easily find a game.
