Title: The New Exhiled King
Post by: jdizzy001 on July 29, 2010, 10:21:17 PM
The first card is one which I had hoped Big D would have remade, but they never did (maybe I'll make one for my own collection.).  The second is a card which I thought would have been neat to see, not sure why Big D never made it...  ;)

[4]•Aragorn, King in Exile
Companion • Man
Str: 8
Vit: 4
Resistence: 8
Ranger.
At the start of each of your turns, you may heal another companion with a resistence of 7 or more.

[2]•Blade of Numenor
Possession•Hand Weapon
Str +2.
Bearer must be a [gondor] man.
If bearer is Anarion, he is vitality +1.

I like the comcept, even though your Gorn is a bit stronger than King in Exile...

Anarion's Sword is a bit too strong, especially if you made it movie Block legal...

I'd like the idea for Anarion's Sword! I agree that it's cost should be higher, [2] would be alright if you compare it to Herugrim. Maybe you could find a more original name for it?

The idea of the new king in exile, is that it would reflect a healing version of g for grand, but perhaps in order to reflect the exclusive nature of the original text, I'll boost the resistence from 6 to 7.

Anarion's sword was increased in cost from 1-2, and the name was changed.

I think you have to make Anarion's sword like Narsil, Blade of the Faithful. Give a vitality bonus to a [Gondor] Man, and then have some stipulation for strength bonuses in the game text.

I could be wrong, but are there any cards that make a character's vitality higher or lower without having the red circle with the number in it?

I don't know any but putting a vitality bonus in the card text is inovative and refreshing.

Little Golden Flower (15R148) offers a vit bonus without the symbol.

So perhaps a vit bonus for the [gondor] man as a regular bonus and a +2 str bonus if bearer is anarion?

Also, I finished the gorn card.

I think you should give the sword the vitality bonus. Then have actual text. Maybe something like this:

Skirmish: If bearer is Anarion, exert a [Gondor] Man to make him strength +1.

That way, you can exert Anarion too, but at the expense of his vitality which is important.

but the card would be weaker and loose much of it's flavor... :(

The idea with the blade of numenor is to reflect the text of denethor's sword.  It was a regular weapon with a bonus to the "rightful bearer."  i could go crazy and make the vit bonus +1 for each artifact you spot (maximum +6) haha, just kidding.

I don't think it loses very much of it's flavor. I think it should mirror Narsil, to an extent. But you're right, it shouldn't be as strong as Narsil.

Just my opinion.

Hardly. Many of us have been doing that far before this.
