Title: Overmars returns
Post by: Gil-Estel on August 10, 2008, 02:20:23 PM
Well, for many of you this might not be huge news, maybe it doesn't even ring a bell, but for those who love real football, Overmars -one of the best Dutch wingers ever- returns to football. When he quit 4 years ago he returned to the club he started to become some sort of technical manager. Now , after the testimonial of Jaap Stam, he and others saw that he was still in good shape. So he decided to help his club....great news from a great player!

I wish he had returned to Arsenal, but would be good to see him again.  He was always great to watch.

As a life long Arsenal fan I can appreciate how cool this news is. His goal to beat United at Old Trafford in 98 is legendary.

only 35...he quit in 2004 due to a knee injury. But now he is like Michael Jordan with the Wizards back in 2001, now that was exciting ;)..no, like Jordan, cause he has a organizing task within the club Go Ahead Eagles, minor division, the club where he started 17 years ago. The club is doing not too good so he decided to put on his shoes once more....
