Title: Pipe weed Hobbits
Post by: Bartol91 on September 06, 2010, 03:18:17 AM
There were two awesome Pipe Weed Hobbit decks around here. One was by Gil-Estel and I don't know the other author.
One with ring-bound hobbits, and the other with unbound (I believe both were standard). Searched the forums for about 2 hours now, so now im asking for links to those two decks, as I would very much like to try them out and add a couple of modifications to check them out.
Thank you in advance. ^^

Thank you Gil-Estel! I used to hate pipe decks, but after one glimpse at your deck, I saw how wrong I was. ^^
Any ideas on improvement (if even needed)? Card price is not an object, and it is even quite possible that I have the cards needed in stock. :P

Test played it. Got raped by Forestguls very early in the game (although my opponent did have a damned good hand of cards from the start, and got somewhat lucky with his next draws). Just can't handle the minion "swarm" the forest nazguls have, not enough weeds to discard and pump Pippin (or any of the other hobbits for that matter). :S
A shame I had time only for one game, will test it further tomorrow.

p.s. Any good condition removal?

maybe try deep in thought. i've built tons of decks similar to this, and had the same swarm problem. you can handle the big minions just fine, but throw 6 of them out there and your dead in the water. might be a decent idea to run a 9 comp fellowship and pack something like shadowplay for enquea protection.

Deep In Thought isn't allowed in standard. Thinking of putting Gandalf, Leader of The Company or Gandalf, Wise Guide and using Traveled Leader so I can play with the Adventure Path, but am still searching for a good condition removal with Gandalf. These cards will repleace Smeagol and all of his cards. Brooding on Tomorrow perhaps? Thou I would prefer a card I can trigger when I need it, losing initiative doesn't seem such a controlable factor.  :-S

Conditions are a pain, with nazguls it is a case of making them lose fierce, at least the biggies. Use all tricks provided by the pipeweeds, which are a lot. And when Pippin is big pimpin' you can kick anything's #$&*@!.

Well, I do like Pipeweed, that said, I am a non smoker, but if in real life smoking was as healthy and fun as it is in lotr tcg, I would be a massive addict!

I was in fact a smoker, until yesterday, I quit it then. :P And while I was doing it, it was a real pleasure. I never started it to be cool, I started smoking because it was a little joy every once in a while. Just like in LOTR, it was something I treated myself after a hard day's work or something like that. But I decided I wanted to quit because it was a bit hard on my wallet, not to mention my health (not yet thou). Back to the deck :P I still need some condition removal to pop into this deck, and Brooding on Tomorrow seems a bit more on the luck side, than on planing. :S
